    Face Fungus

Righty - ho, here's the gist of my dilemma . I'm here working in the UK at the moment and its been f-f-ff friggin freezing of late , so a couple of weeks ago I decided I'd grow a beard . Never had one before although back in the day I did sport a proper porn-star moustache , until i met my TGF who made it quite clear I could get rid of it or go without the horizontal jogging . So it went .
So anyway I'm a fortnight in and problems are starting to appear . Now I reckon its a distinguished grey in colour , but mates here are ripping the piss 'cos they say its more GINGER!! Thats bollox though, unless you catch the light right when maybe there is a slight tinge. Sod 'em - don't like it don't look.
But my real problem is the itching - constant itching, it's driving me up the wall . I'm not sure how much longer I can stand it , but if I take it off now my mates will say its cos I'm a ginger ! Does this irritation subside ? How long before it does ? And why the hell is it ginger ?? I'm not ginger anywhere else.

Don't let itching deter you! If you experience itching, keep your skin clean by daily shampooing (with a gentle shampoo) and optionally using a conditioner. Your skin will eventually adjust to the new situation. Itching should be only a temporary phase. If you happen to need more relief, try applying some baby oil or moisturizing lotion to the areas that are itching. That should help to soothe your skin while you go through the transition.

I've been of the bearded persuasion for over 30 years. I do, however, cut it all off every birthday, well most years anyway.

A week or two and the itching will go. Main thing is not to scratch it. Makes it worse and people will laugh at you.

    Washing/shampooing also helps, I find.

    Stick with it.
