    New Year 2011

..... I'm going to wish a warm welcome to 2011 driving our new taxi in Copenhagen all night long - hoping for a lot of happy customers/money though I will be melancoly inside, missing my love and family in the jungle

Listening to the blood-curdling screams and shitty music of the natives dancing around their fires, maybe a vuvuzela or two

    Maybe watch a slaughtering. Kewl.

Will do my daily trip to the hospital - escape by late afternoon have a couple of glasses of vino collapso at a bar in town and go home before the road blocks start !
Sit in the yard and watch the fireworks at Wat Chalong - feed the cats and go to bed !
    The excitement is underwhelming !

Me too, staying home. Might invite some friends round. It's just too cold to go out and stand like a sardine in my winter clothes in a hot, sweaty pub.

We are due to go to a BBQ buffet at this guys house which half way up the hill and can see both Rawai and Nai Harn beaches, can see the firework displays all around so he tells me.

Many times we have gone down to Nai Hanr beach loads of people and usually some live music put on by the ORBORTOR.

Usually huge firework display from the 5 star hotel at the end of the beach.

Right this moment in time 8-30am bye the way it could very well piss down as it did on Xmas eve from about 10pm.

Anyway guys all the breast for the new year

Entertainment in local temple grounds as per last year, food, dancrs, music, bouncy castle etc for kids, and muay thai starting with 8 year olds up to adults.

No mouthguards, no headgear it's basically 'death-match' stuff, last year numerous kids carted off after knockout.

Doing nothing, traffic with all the drunks is not my idea of having fun. Will get pissed with the local boys here and stay safe. Keeps the family safer also. Happy New Years to all.

    Righhhhhhhht...

I'll just have to wait for the missus to get back from her latest minor crash scene (central Rama 2 today, with a fukin speeding undertaking Fortuna in the car park!), then I'll likely have to drive her down to the temple for a midnight mass thingy...

Home now - only stopped once at the BIB road blocks !
One bit of drama on the way back though- some locals had an impromptu firework and booze session on the side of the road about 100 yards ahead of me .
One of those 400 baht type whizz bangs fell over and the fireball shot across the road and went bang in someones garden- if it had hit a motorcy it would have taken the drivers head off ! (even if they were wearing a helmet !).

to accomodate some pals i got wrecked las nite
if i recover in time may go to a bar where some band
will be doing mainly 'Pink Floyd' numbers.
supposed to be a good band.
but getting home afterwards could be a problem.
maybe i'll just toss a coin.
    Healthy New Year everybody.
