You have two ways to store contacts 1) onthe simcard 2) In the phonememory.

You need to put your sim in your old phone go into contacts and copy contacts to Sim... Then you have a copy of all your contacts on your sim.

If you have 5million contacts ...then this wont work... it also onlycopiesa limited sizename and number and no extra info ...
