Maybe because unlike you...
... screaming for/trying to attract everyones attention is not something that I occupy my time with.

Sorry Ant, but everyone who posts on this board is after attention if you think about it. Only those who read but don't sign up are not, so that's you screwed.
Well that's your perspective innit.Quote:

Ditto.
Don't go all Smeg on me and start projecting your issues as targets to swing at, Scamps. :)
Did so..Quote:

They need to be 'confined to barracks' & their idiot government(s) need to free up the press so that unadulterated info from other parts of the world gets to their ears & into their thick heads.
They need to change their dreadful accent. It's not Worshington...it's Washington. It's not airnd...it's and. I could go on for some time about the American accent.
America needs to be truly secular before American citizens are allowed to enter other democratic countries. This means that sayings like 'In god we trust' will cease to exist.
America should turn itself into the fertilizer hub of the world.
I met one on the weekend.
On the whole not a bad bloke.
A factory owner who visits chine 3-4 times a year to inspect his works.
Currently being taken for a walk down the garden path by a rather attractive Chinese girl. Not to worry, he's happy.
Typically the conversation kept coming back to him yapping on about the states and assuming anyone/everyone else could care less.
A converstion about the BBQ meat we were eating went to how the Texans BBQ'd and a big discussion about Texan BBQing.
Somehow every topic came back to talking about the states.
Boring, and he seemed to think everyone would be enthralled.
^^^
Being a bore is something that crosses national boundaries and isn't limited to Americans.
How much time did he spend criticizing your home country (or that of anyone else)?
Too busy talking aout good old US of A to do that.
Actually he is a real southerner, it was a lot of Noth South US politics.
It wasn't so much that he was a bore as that somehow he assumed we would all be interested in The U.S. and topics related.
We weren'r (and one guy lived there for 12 years.
Actually now that I think about it, much of his retoric was aimed at deriding the North.
I don't know where you guys dredge these people up from. I only talk about the US when a question is asked. When I am traveling I want to know about the place I am visiting. I probably would ask you where you were from and what led you to living abroad.
I am sure one of the smart ones on here can confirm, but I believe the jist of the statement from Socrates is that you don't learn by talking, you learn by listening.
All I know is 80% of the Amerikans I have worked with have been wankers that are totaly full of shit and mouth off a lot until shit happens then they dont have a clue. Pretty well only good for a bit of lip service
But also I would say 80 % of the Americans I have meet in Thailand living here are decent people that are good to have laugh or a beer with.
Saying that most the Aussies I have meet in Thailand are wankers as well and only have a few Aussie mates here.
As an American I find that statement to be accurate ... especially my last boss.Quote:
