A photo I've just taken for another forum of the solar hot water system up on my roof. Great facility, must be 20 years old now and never maintained.
Britain has invaded every country on Earth except for 22. Image: http://telegraph.co.uk
^ The 22 are unfortunate.
AO, just for reference here is a photo of what size the moon really is in comparison to trees and other foreground features when taken through a 300mm Equivalent telephoto lens (taken just before dawn on the waning crescent last week on my Olympus OMD E-M5)
Hope this helps on your future internet escapades!
Would be interested in info on camera settings and where you focussed on.
Thanks....
^I had to check the exif data as I am a lazy Program Mode photographer
f/5.5
1/6 s
138mm fl (=276mm @35)
...apparently
You need a very steady hand rest for those settings at 276mm equivalent
Just grab the infinity focus and exposure from the moon and then adjust the frame
Anyway, while I am here, here is the same photo taken at 24mm wide angle equivalent for AO's atrological edification in photographic foreshortening...!
@Looper: thanks for the info. Will also give it a try ....
