Thursday afternoon. Passengers amble towards the Sakhon Nakhon-Bkk shuttle, half full.

The state of my apartment block in Mandalay is typical of many building built pre "democracy" and is rather run down on the whole. The elevators of been creaking for a while now and this notice provides little comfort- quite the opposite. To add insult to injury the address of the office is in the area I would love to live in.

    Where I don't live-boo!

^ That is a Foodland stock photo from at least 5 years back!

Are they really bringing back the full English with Italian sausage and French toast?

Can't go for a Dairy Queen Almond Caramel Ite Clim without bumping into Adolf's Asian Nazi Youth. Four swastikas. Suspect the bag was empty.

Sundown over Mandalay from the corridor window of my apartment block. While the city isn't going to win any beauty contests we do get some stunning sunsets on a regular basis.

It's still just over halfway up. Highest ever flyover built in Thailand...so far. After clearing the intersection will be the steepest ever BTS slope down to Mo Chit station. Exciting stuff!

Note the scaffold/stair access. Not wobbly bamboo ladders.

Huge queues near Central Lat Phrao. Not sure why, maybe the bike taxi guys are still hungover.

In the middle is the new Lat Phrao Intersection station, due to be operational in 18 months.
