I'm across the water from downtown, working in and living near to the HHI shipyard.

I'm gonna be working here for the next 3 years at least by the look of things.

    Just received fro Internationas SOS:

South Korea: Expect heavy rainfall in southern, eastern areas around 8 October due to passage of Tropical Storm Danas

Personnel should expect heavy rainfall in the southern and eastern areas of the country around 8 October due to the passage of Tropical Storm Danas. While the storm is not expected to make landfall, its outer bands will affect the country as it passes over Japan on 6-8 October. According to the Korean Meteorological Administration ( KMA), Danas at 03.00 (local time) on 5 October was located approximately 304 miles (490km) north-west of Guam (US) and was moving in a west-north-western direction at approximately 15 miles per hour (24kph), with maximum sustained wind speeds of up to 47 mph (76kph). Meanwhile, Typhoon Fitow is no longer expected to impact South Korea as it continues to move in a western direction towards China.

    Little Creatures

This is a Velvet Mite. It is a tiny crab-like insect covered in a brilliant red velvet fur which lives in Australian temperate forests. Beautifully eye-catching colours which the camera struggles to capture. Don't know why they are so brightly coloured as birds must be able to see them easily although their slow ambling gait belies their role as fearsome predator at the macro-insect-world level. I think this is a female as it looks like an egg-sac attached underneath her abdomen.

    Good question Abers.

The body of the mite is only about 4mm long so whatever it is it is pretty small!

Wow, if it's that small in real life then the shots even better than I thought. I would have guessed it was over a centimetre at least.

Thanks OR. Apparently the hill has been continually settled since neolithic times and rumours are circulating among some archaeological groups, that theres possibly a Brigante queen buried around the area.

What you're looking at is the World Trade Center from the Hudson River Bicycling Path.

Did you make it out? The storm was pretty ferocious here last night as I was watching the windows come closer and closer to caving in.

    New email:

South Korea: Continue to expect heavy rainfall in southern, eastern areas due to passage of Typhoon Danas

Personnel should continue to expect heavy rainfall in southern and eastern coastal areas on 9 October due to the passage of Typhoon Danas. Heavy rainfall and winds resulted in the cancellation of six international flights from Gimhae International Airport (PUS) in Gimhae (South Gyeongsang Province) on 8 October, though domestic flights were not interrupted. The Busan Port Authority also temporarily restricted ships from entering and leaving the port on the day.

According to the Korean Meteorological Administration ( KMA), at 04.00 (local time) on 9 October the storm was located approximately 93 miles (150km) south of the Liancourt Rocks (Dokdo) moving in a east-north-east direction at 25 miles per hour (40kph).

Very impressive. I bet the building in front was imposing at the time it was built. Looks dwarfed in comparison.

    Happy couple getting hitched.

No modern wedding would be complete without a quick bridal selfie for her to chuck on FB to keep her friends up to date on the day's procedings! So the professional photographer with his collection of DSLRs and lenses is shooed away so the bride can have 5 minutes with her iPhone!

It was fantastic natural light. A dark storm overhead and a bright silvery sunset on the horizon.

Very lucky. You don't get those conditions often.

I was just the cheeky opportunist snapper crashing the shoot with my XZ-1

There was a real photographer there with a 1D and various L glass who was ushered aside for the all-important 5 minute selfie iShoot!

Bit of a sad one from me today .

This little fella did his best to waddle out in front of me as I drove my lorry down a farm track , I get rabbits full of mixie do the same , it seems some animals know when they're end is imminent and I suppose want out of they're pain. It looks to me he has snagged his left eye on some wire and its badly infected .

    [/IMG]

I'm sorry little owl , I couldnt do it , so I took some pics , he let me pat him on the head and I moved on down the lane.

When I came back he was lying on his back with his feet up in the air ,, I thought " Some bastards run over him ! "

So I pulled up past him out the way , got out walked back to lift him off the track and put him in the bushes , but the little bugger turned over sat back up looking at me !

A right little character for sure , reckon he thought ,, " got you going there "

So I gave him half of one of my cheese + mango chutney sandwiches .

I reckon he's long gone now , bet he wished I'd run him over
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs
