When I lived in Bruxelles I used to drink in a bar that had dozens of different beers.
Ranged from nearly fuckall % up to 16% alcahol.
All were 50 francs
Glasses were from 1 litre to a thimble full ! Depending on which one you bought.
One that was absolute brain-death on a cold night tasted like "Tunes" dissolved vodka - lovely stuff !

A Although native to North Western South America and the Pacific Tropics, the Heliconia rostrata can be commonly found in tropical gardens throughout the world and is plentiful in Thailand. The Heliconia is commonly known as False Bird of Paradise, Hanging Heliconia, or Lobster Claw. This relatively inconspicuous flower has oblongleavesgrowing 15-300 cm long and has plump, red and yellow bracts that are pollinated by hummingbirds. Theirflowersare produced on long, erect or droopingpanicles, and consist of brightly colored waxy bracts, with small true flowers peeping out from the bracts.Heliconia rostratablooms in late spring and early summer, and its pendulous, waxy inflorescences can last for weeks on the plant. The plants grow to about 8 feet (2.4 m) tall and may look quite similar to banana plants to which they are related.

The photos of these particular Heliconia were taken on Easter Sunday, 4 April 2010 at a friends home on the back roads between Rayong and Pattaya.

All of the following photos except for the last one were taken on Sunday, 4 April 2010 in the garden of a friend’s home located btwn Rayong and Pattaya. The last photo was in the vicinity of the friend's garden on the back country road I was walking. The elderly Thai lady, that I just could not resist taking a picture of, was walking on the same back country road. The character in her facial features was magnificent and I only wish I could have captured the life in her face with a zoom lens. It was not to be on this day though. The tropical plant life is always a good photo op so enjoy!

Just what we need.... criticism for posting pictures.

I believe those original guideline were wavied as most enjoy looking at photos. If you object to my or others who post more than 1 photo per week I suppose you choose to look at only one photo per week per poster if you wanted SunTzu. Otherwise, just relax and enjoy the pics. Sabai Sabai.

KW: After perusing through the thread, I guess my I made a literal interpretation of Panama Hat’s comment in post #175 and took it to mean that the rules were loose. In any event, I believe in rules being set for a reason and will play by the original rules. Enjoy the flowers!
The suggestion offered about starting a new thread in plants and flowers section so I can post flowers to my hearts content is a viable option and will give it consideration although it probably already exists in which case I hide out over there.
