Bloody hell, where's abundance? there's bugger all in Sheffield. I did see one bleached blond teenager with ponytail in the high perky horse taking a shit style bent over her youngsters pram with a foot of pasty white muffin top on display overhanging her leopardskin leggings, the faint silvery stretchmarks glistening in the sun. Despite the display of at 4 inches of arse crack peeking above her red lacy thong there was no sign of a tramp stamp. This was an instant turn off, surely girls realise you want something to look at while taking them from behind, you don't always have a TV handy and sometimes you have to let the kid watch the Disney Channel to keep them quiet.

Had a mate and his Mrs over for drinks tonight, we were sitting out on the the garden deck when I noticed one of the cats acting weird (well weirder than usual). He'd noticed a cobra in the garden, it was over a meter long, about as thick as a golf ball in the middle.

I don't like killing things that aren't going to be eaten but I also don't want potentially deadly things setting up home under my house so I had to despatch it to the serpentarium in the sky. Plus my Mrs was hopping up and down, she hates the things. Crappy pic, but what the hell.

PS: those aren't my feet, I was manning the camera.

Not as far as I know, and I don't want to ask him because then I'd have to admit that I am!

Anyway he's German, I think he posts on some German boards

Ah, you have German friends . . . you may have just risen in my estimation from foot fetishist to almost acceptable snake-murderer

Totally agree QC. Needless killing of anything is unacceptable IMO but you have to put human safety first.

I also agree about things being killed to be eaten is fine which is why I would have cooked the snake up myself. A bit of home made cobra larb or something would have been an interesting thing to try.

He just about crapped hit shorts when he saw the reptile; he's been here a while but hadn't come face to face with a snake, let alone an extremely pissed off cobra, before.

The only help he gave was to hold a flashlight on it for me from the safety of the deck while I killed it. Even after it was dead the residual wriggling from its nerves meant he wouldn't go near it until I had about cut it in half to stop its tail winding about!

A dormant one which is why I have not yet pronounced the death penalty for it, but I'm keeping an eye on it!

I killed a cobra before when living in another house (it was coiled up under the TV table in my f*cking living room, same cat spotted it) and when I took the carcass out I asked a neighbour where I should throw it but he asked for it to make soup.

I'm quite new in this house and don't really know the neighbours yet so nobody to give it to. The Mrs would murder me if I even suggested bringing a dead snake into the house, she has a real phobia - can't even look at pictures of snakes without getting queazy.

I offered it to a Burmese girl who works for us but she wasn't interested so I had to bin it.
