Why have we chosen this life of uncertainty?

I can only speak for myself but the uncertainty and the less than mundane lifestyle you can experience is exactly the reason I love it here.

I can honestly say, and after living in this region for over 20 years it still feels like I am on holidays.

The beer sounds fine, we must do that one day, but the body movies and old bruises I can do without, I'll just get jealous since I have no body paint to show myself I somehow doubt you have any yourself-

This can't be right. Did you mean "break your hand on a nut"?

Lots of the above around in Thailand though, difficult to avoid sometimes.

No you're safe, trust me. You've got nothing in there that could possibly be of any interest to me.

me too, 22 years but have left several times...... but if the wages aren't there, it's time to move on.

I know one expat came on big salary 13 years ago, lost that...on an on, lower job each time, is now unemployed after his last job was paying around 60K a month (cannot say exactly, he doesn't tell me) and may finally be forced out.

    Sad.

I too am here because I get paid more to work overseas and Thailand is another assignment along the way. I do like it here better then other Asian countries, but if I had to leave to keep the pay at this level, I would do so without thinking about it. Most likely I will either stay here or come back when I retire in 5 years or so. Maybe then I will join the ranks of those with too much time on my hands and start writing posts moaning about Thais and Thailand.

Have never been much of a whore monger but for sure I go to sleazy bars. Have never been to a bar in Thailand which did not have a few Thai whores. Actually, have never been anywhere in Thailand which did not have a few Thai whores.

Abundance of whores, no friends ...Amazing Thailand

Smart arse I used a translation of the Danish saying, not knowing the English one, I do now thank you.

Funny, that would have been the translation of a german saying too.
