Bit of both I think !

'A Gurkha from the 4/8 Gurkhas had demonstrated to me in India how best to use the kukri. Firstly, you get in close to your enemy and stab him in the lower body. When the kukri goes in, the enemy always doubles up. You then swiftly withdraw your kukri and take his head off. With a sharp blade that's easy. I saw many an enemy with their heads off so it must work!'

    [edit] Eligibility

Initially Gurkhas, along with all other native troops of the British East India Company Army or the Indian Army, were not eligible for the Victoria Cross and as such up until 1911 all Gurkha recipients of the award were British officers who were attached to Gurkha regiments.[2] Since then, however, sixteen VCs have been awarded to men serving with Gurkha regiments, thirteen of which have been native Gurkhas.[1] Since 1950, when India became a republic, Gurkhas serving in the Indian Army lost their eligibility for the Victoria Cross and they are now covered under the Indian honours system. Under this system the Param Vir Chakra (PVC), which is India's highest military decoration, is considered to be equivalent to the Victoria Cross.[citation needed] As such only those serving in the Gurkha units of the British Army remain eligible for the Victoria Cross.

No you do drugs as far as I remember and have dabbled a bit in dealing/smuggling as well by your own admissions ?. Interesting that you should think the Gurkha's to be crooks, They are considered English citizens if they want to be, and most soldiers receive pay as far as I know.

    Never.

to say that they are mercenaries can only be laughable
I know, but you know what I'm trying to say.

mercenary in the strict sense of the word
    As for this shit:

you do drugs as far as I remember and have dabbled a bit in dealing/smuggling as well by your own admissions
What the fuck has that got to do with anything? Mind your own business.

You should read a thread before you start banging on, too.

most soldiers receive pay as far as I know
As I said, some are protecting their country, too. Not just for the cash.

Interesting that you should think the Gurkha's to be crooks
    I didn't say they were crooks? I said they'll build a ghetto.

Hey, larvidchr, I always enjoy reading your posts, but it's waaaay below the belt to insinuate that kind of thing in a public forum, no matter how deeply you disagree with the poster. In all fairness to RR I think that post of yours should be deleted.

I thought you suggested you were planning to get up in some Ghurka's face. In the scenario you propose, by all means, shoot him.

I think I was looking for similarity's "Mindless mercenaries" " Fucking mercenaries"

Drugs kill, and drug dealers/distributors are mindless mercenaries as well.

So Redrums apparent dislike of the Gurkhas intrigued me, I dont know who the English people rather would want stay, a drug criminal or a Gurkha?

It's not that I care what Redrum have done in the past really, just that I always find it funny when thieves go crazy when their house is burgled.

To Robuzo, I never post any private info on anybody, would not dream of it, but in this case Redrum have put it out on the forum himself many times in the past, not with remorse but almost with pride, so I rightly guessed he would not care about the info, but Im not surprised that in the context he is not to impressed.

    ^^

    Double?

    I've got about eleven!

Drugs kill, and drug dealers/distributors are mindless mercenaries as well
Does that include the pub landlord & the tobacconist, or does these terms only apply to drugs you don't do?

I dont know who the English people rather would want stay, a drug criminal or a Gurkha
On this estate there is only one answer to that

    Nick Griffin said

We don't think the most overcrowded country in Europe, can realistically say, 'Look, you can all come and all your relatives.' When the Gurkhas signed up - frankly as mercenaries - they expected a pension which would allow them to live well in their own country.

Because of economic development in Nepal, the British Army pension isn't now enough for them to be able to do that. It would be cheaper for us and probably far better for the Gurkhas to say, 'Why don't we just increase your pension so that more of you can live in Nepal rather than coming to Britain?'
He made the comments on Nicky Campbell's BBC Radio 5 Live breakfast show.

That's a Cambridge graduate talking, not me.

Take everyone's word for it and stand corrected, apologies to larvidchr. As someone that was bizarrely accused of criminal activity (not drug dealing, so far as I could deal, just of illegal business) not long after joining the list I'm probably a bit oversensitive. Not to mention shocked at RR's indiscretion. . .

But they are still mercenaries, in any sense of the word. BUT that is not a bad thing, mercenaries have got a bad image recently (twats in Africa etc) but that doesn't mean they are bad overall. Mercenaries have played a fairly major role in many conflicts (Vietnam, for instance, even Iraq and Afghanistan)

It has become a family tradition to work for the Brit army for some Gurkas, but they are still working for a foreign country for money i.e.mercenaries
    I have reported your post

No sweat robuzo you did not know Redrum is a good story teller, I think one of his nicks was something like "shehiredahitman" or was it the title of the story I don't remember, anyway quite entertaining/scary a bit like watching a child riding a bike blindfolded through the woods.
