Thaksin and Sir Jimi Saville...copy cat Thaksin

Just been reading a statement by the 'Glorious forever returning leader' on another site. (sorry)

Thaksin: You name it, I can fix it.

Now that's going a bit far don't you think???

'If you think this is a fair and honest statement, then please just nip down to your local thai hospital and lay your hands on as many patients as you can....Oh lord Thaksin (Jessus) Shinawatra.

Otherwise leave it to Sir Jimi

    WHO DO YOU TRUST?

'Rattle Rattle jewelery jewelery, say everything twice'
And Mister Cigars' got lots to say about those lovely doctors and nurses at Stoke Manderville hospital as well.

So, how come he's not in Thailand and not PM anymore? Couldn't fix that, could he?

Couldn't be helped RN. He stepped on the wrong toes too many times. Agreed that Thaksin was/is a no-good-nik, but the consistent manner in which 'government' is easily transitory {historically} here and can be taken care of by the casual military-based coup or a monarchal procamation is not {by any means} a democratic process. If Thaksin was so universally detested within broad political and social circles, which he wasn't of course - but instead a small core of powerful and influencial centre created his demise. Why didn't these same folks consider the democratic fashion of the no-confidence procedure in Parliament? As long as Thailand holds dear the militaristic and mystical influences, things will never change.

All British men over a certain age get the vote in 1918, not just land-owners. Women over 30 with land also got the vote for the first time

All women get the vote in the Uk in 1928.

    Hardly 300 years, eh?

The same composit systems exist in these places as well, it's just disguised better. We do we insist that a Western 'model' fits nicely, and without incident, throughout Asia....??

Not quite, but judging from his pic on the front of the Bangkok Post's website this morning he's looking a tad frail.

Bangkok Post : Threat to Thaksin

Also the 'soothsayers' in my office are saying that he's predicted to be dead by Sept of this year, according to their soothsayers, astrologists, physcics etc...

    Thanks for the explanation, RS.

What I meant though, is how can people be expected to believe his claims of an ability to fix anything, when he couldn't fix his own life?

I'm sure Hitler was charm personified when he wanted to be. Mussolini was reputed to be a jolly chap. Sure that Genghis Khan & Atilla the Hun (not our Henny Penny) could break out the bubbly when needed, too.
