me too, just remember to turn it on to silent when you are sleeping, I hate it whe you get a call or text in the middle of the night that wakes you up..... (and its not a booty call)

these days you can switch off your phone at night but it still switches itself on to wake you up if you have set the alarm on it.

How awesome is that? I mean, how can it know what the time is when it is switched off?

Technology is so amazing these days.

Even better is the function to have a profile on a timer, so you can have the phone on a loud profile during the day set to go off at 10pm that evening to a silent profile, only trouble is you have to set it each day unlike the alarms now which have a repeatable function and you can choose which days for them to go off, ie weekdays except Fridays when I like a sleep in...

Mine stays on full alert due to work commitments. On call 24/7. only time it goes on silent is inside movie theatres.

there is one feature they don't have and I badly need is call barring on a particular phone number basis. Too many drunken nights and handing out namecards had caused a few headaches with the missus

What you can do, and I've only heard this from my mate, is to set a profile to no alerts, or vibrate at all, then change all your known numbers into a group called 'trusted' for instance, and create a particular ringtone, messages for these numbers.

therefore you will have ringtone and messages for these numbers and everything else will call, but no ring or vibrate so therefore you (or your missus) will not even realise they are calling and will ignore the call

This technique I am aware of. But calls are registered in the "Log" even for those that goes unanswered. Missus checks the phone when I am in the shower. Sneaky girl.

Bad trait common to many, many Asian women, divest her of it now!

Or bring your phone into the shower...bathroom I mean.

I delete on a regular basis. Logs, incoming, outgoing, missed calls, text messages. Then I get grief from the missus as above on a regular basis.
However if you look at her phone, she will look at yours less.
I've had the phone in the bathroom still the secrets gets out

I very rarely make calls with mine. its mostly used to take covert photos for the thai girls knickers thread and storing the phone numbers of girls I would like to have sex with. Sometimes I'll use the gprs to see how many goals my team lost by this week.

you could also get a WiFi phone and keep track with regular stock market updates. No jumping off high floors now.
