I went to a couple of TV meetings at the Sin club in Bangkok. I ended up leaving both of those after 20 or 30 minutes of enforced conversation with people I didn't know. I found it to be very uncomfortable.

I tried to go to one TD meeting in Bangkok, but failed.

I went to a couple of TV meetings at the Farang Connection in Surin. I took photos at one. I posted a link to one of the photos here. I ended up having my life threatened by someone who I thought was my pal.

I guess this solidified my feeling that meeting new people is just not worth it.

sorry about that mate - but I thought we only said hello and I looked at your avatar sticker on your shirt and thought that it was a good idea.

solve your social phobias like the rest of us - just get pissed and speak shit and hope no one has a camera - even if they do , CFzero

    Yep, I am the same. I don't like meeting people I don't know so it's a catch 22 situation.
I am even worse when it comes to a group meeting.

I don't think it's a problem as long as you are happy, if you are unhappy then that's a different thing. I don't like going out much anymore either because I don't drink... if I started drinking again then I'd start going out again, but when I'm sober I'd prefer to stay in and do boring stuff and I'm happy doing that.

Unfortunately a couple of months ago I met up with a few TD posters including marmite and CMN and since then I have locked myself in my room and stuck tinfoil on the walls so they can't find me.

I'm fine. I have a good life. But, I do regret that I'm not able to do something that seems to come so naturally to most people.

In the future, it's probably best for me to just not try rather than continue to try and end up failing, yet again.

We're just not in to that sort of thing. The only time we've ever been out with another couple is when MtD and GoW came to town last year. (Are they still together, BTW?)

I just dropped Ms. B off to have lunch with a friend. This is the first time I've ever known her to go out with a friend in the five years I've known her.

    We're not social animals.

I'm wondering how you meet your wife if your a a tad shy mate. ?

Only a question thats all, there aint nothing wrong with minding ones own business either as I also like my alone time .

    I must say,

I go out of my way to meet people but only on a one on one basis, only if I like the way they post and only if I feel I would have something in common with the said person.

Dont do group meetings as every one is pissed up and you usually dont get to see the true person.

Ive meet some good people and never struck a dud yet.

Just an idea...how are you with costume parties? ['fancy dress parties' for you Commonwealth types]

Sounds like there are many TD members who would like to socialize with you, and probably wouldn't mind dressing up as pirates, animals, or flowers if that would make you feel at ease.

    Just a thought...

I am also very shy and prefer meeting a selected few to big parties.

Just learned to ignore my shyness, it gets easier as you keep practising.

I was so nervous before the first TV meeting I went to...brought the missus along to hold my hand. Now I usually know one or two guys already, but there are several 'threats' pending...

Same here as well, I do enjoy going out for meals with friends though. Never really been into partying either, prefer to have a drink and a chat.
