    "I could kick myself!"

I there something in the past that you did. or didn't do, that makes you
    say this to yourself?

    Like this one of mine.

I accepted a Bankers Draft for an expensive Video Camera, a few years ago in the UK, from a 'delightful Lady'.........It was FRAUDULANT!

For being SO trusting, I COULD KICK MYSELF!

I accepted a cheque for a car I was selling years ago.

I got suss so went straight to the bank to get it 'chequed' out, it bounced. Straight back to the caravan park where the dodgy backpackers were and they had already checked out!

The joy of living in such a remote area means only 1 road in and 1 road out - the cops found them in the next town four hours later!
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

^ Backpackers keep the cost of old cars unnaturally inflated in Oz. You should shoot them all.

Actually I wasn't too worried about it as it wasn't even my car but one that was left at my work by an employee so I was just selling it to cover expenses.

I bought 3,500 '19th century silver dollars' from a second hand shop in Jakarta.

They turned out to be copper fakes coated in epns. Some are apparently still worth a bit, as they are 1804 copies, and there were almost none minted in that year.

I subsequently got some 300 pound goons to go and see the dealer, and he swapped those I still had in Indonesia for a Sumatran tiger.

I still have some of the coins here in Bkk, and the Sumatran tiger is sitting behind me as I type.

I told my name to the two fellas who accosted me in the street in Suva, Fiji.

The wooden sword with my name on it cost me $20 and went straight in the bin.

Should have bought Yahoo stock instead of a more 'stable' blue chip like Enron..

I should've studied plumbing at college rather than structural engineering. Those wankers earn a fortune.

I was offered two choice McDonalds franchises in Sydney during the 1980's, which I turned down. They even offered to put up my finance. I'd have made a sizable fortune, on both turnover and ultimately capital gain. And a further small one on Mcd shares.

But in those days, I thought supplying the accounting systems to Mac's was much more choice a career than being a hamburger boss, and didn't realise the magnitude of the opportunity presented to me- by two of the top three guys at Mcd's Australia I should add. One- Charlie Bell- went on to head Mcd's worldwide. The other- Peter Ritchie- went on to head Mcd's Asia Pacific.

3 weeks ago I bought 400 Southern Copper Shares for 71$ and sold them a week ago for 95$. A nice profit.
Copper prices went through the roof this week and those shares hit 113$

    Bugger!

nothing wrong with that, always sell on the rise, you can rarely pic the top.

instead of selling my macquarie shares 3 months ago at $96 i bought some more, they are selling for $56 now, meaning worth what I paid for them.

Trades are earning a fortune these days on the wave of a continuing housing boom; they name their price and you're lucky to get any reno work done in a timely manner. Plumbers: $80-$120++/hour

I bought 100 Sky shares at about 9.90 GBP a share when I knew that OnDigital was going to fuck up. They dropped to about 5.00 GBP within a year or so and are now only worth 5.95 (they went up to 7.00 last July).

My Pal at the BBC asked me to join a little company he was forming to make
Training Films with a guy called John Cleese. "Never heard of him" I said "Who wants to make boring Training Films when your are making Network Docs?".
A few years later he sold the Company and his share of the loot was 8million quid!. When I heard I could have kicked myself!

Sad ending though. His wife left him so he gassed himself in his Range Rover......

Have you cleared it yet on dividends or not?

I will need to wait about 5 years to get back the RBS at the current divident payout.
