Took some baht out of mothball and bought a fridge recently and it has a dial that goes from min through med and on to max...now, does min mean min temp (coolest) or min power (warmest)?

Forget the manual, it's Thai like the fridge and shows a hand holding the dial at all three main positions with blurbs saying 'min', 'med', and 'max' respectively...plan B, some derogative remark about monkeys and handed it all over to mrs k who couldn't understand what was confusing me because min must mean min temp but humoured me with several minutes of comparison and contemplation during which she realised that min could also mean min power...eventually seems she found what she was looking for in the manual and said with absolute confidence that min does indeed mean min temp (coolest), which brought a sigh of relief as it resolved my quest, if only she didn't as an afterthought repeat the performance and confess that min could also mean min power (warmest)...any nerds out there? - would be nice to know how to use a fridge!
