The 'Your heroes thread', by Property

    Richard Branson.

    For telling Virgin Atlantic workers threatening strike action to fuck off and work somewhere else, and I quote;

"For some of you, more pay than Virgin Atlantic can afford may be critical to your lifestyle and if that is the case you should consider working elsewhere"

Good on you, beardy. About time someone put their foot down and stopped bending over forwards for these striking twats who think nothing of fucking up other people's hard-earned holiday time because they want better benefits for themselves.

Now if you really don't like your employer, go work for someone else and stop holding the paying public to ransom.

Just one more then before beddy-bye time.

    The Pope

Somebody had to take a stand against Harry Potter and grown adults reading children's books.

Pope Benedict XVI has condemned the Harry Potter books as "subtle seductions," capable of corrupting young Christians.

Richard Attenborough is better than the "David" version, imho.

    Way better.

    I don't have a hero, but I'll try:

    Probably not an athlete
    Certainly not an actor
    Maybe a politician
    Likely a soldier
    Certainly an author

    Bangkok Phil

Outspoken yet very clearly erudite, Bangkok Phil is one of the most well-known Bangkok based webmasters and perhaps the second most well-known English teacher in the entire Kingdom. (He’d need to shave his head and start speaking ‘Strine to be the most known.) Acknowledged as something of an expert on the English teaching industry in Thailand, he has an almost cult like following on the very popular Ajarn.com site which he runs. But Ajarn.com is not the only site that Phil has been responsible for. He was the creator of Bangkokmouth and he's a busy boy who always seems to have some irons in the fire.

Nope, he's just another **** working in Thailand without a degree.

^ I find myself in the strange position of agreeing entirely with Butter this time..

Branson, Gates, Jobs whom ever were all fortunate and blessed enough to have someone believe in them and that is why they are who they are today. Without that one person in thier lives in his case his aunt,(by his own admission) brother, friend, customer/s, whom ever, he is no better and probably even less than most every other person who has had a fantastic idea and dream that they have never been able to realize because no one has given them the opportunity..

With that I also have to say that there is not one single successful person in the world that is entirely self made in spite of what they might selfishly think. There has been someone or many people who have believed in every single one without question....

^ So beardy should run his VA company at a loss then. Sounds like communism to me. Surely if they don't like the remuneration package on offer, then find another job. It's a free country.

Without those employees he doesn't have a company to run or make a profit and he is showing 0% loyalty, is he making money? Yes he is....So maybe if it's that urgent that his company won't be profitable anymore than he should take a major pay cut of his own? Think that will happen? Not in this life time...

You are a commie bastard Driven, and I like your line of thinking on that one, I agree entirely. Fuck those assholes, with their expensive lifestyle, they forget about those employees who basically pay for their luxuries through their low salaries and miserable lifestyle.

He should be shot for those comments.

I agree, Richard Branson is an extremely unsavory character (a convicted fraudster), who has screwed over his partners many times in his business career.
