With a btl of Laughing Bird wrapped in a bow. :-)
i never engage in business transactions when i've had a pint of malbec, nor advise prisoners on how to scale walls atopped with razor wire and watchtowers
It's going very well, cheers Neverna.
I'm taking me 650 to the dealership this week for a full service etc.
Then will probably take this wee project to a shop next week for the next stage of resto:
new front tire, electrics/lights/indicators/dash sorted as none of them currently work and I know fudge all about electrics, brake service as it only has one working brake, and oil and oil filter because why not.
But there is one thing I can't figure out.
I didn't start it for 2 days, and after that it wouldn't start with the starter, and took a few kicks of the kickstart to get it to turn over and keep running.
Even just over night it will be tricky to start and take a few tries.
Once running she's perfect, ticks along with no power issues.
The only thing I can think of is perhaps the battery is a crap cheap Chinese one that wasn't used for 6 months, so it loses power when not used for a day or two?
Or it takes a few start attempts to get fuel pumped into the carb?
#help.Ed
You bought a voltmeter? Measure battery voltage when it fails to start, then kickstart it and measure again to se if voltage increases ie to confirm that the alternator/dynamo is charging the battery.
I don't know why I'm telling this, we already knew that, didn't we?![]()

"The road to fascism is filled with people who say that you're overreacting.
Could be any bloody thing. But yeah, it could be that fuel evaporates from the bowl over that shortish time. Dunno why, in this case. You can check for this by waiting a coupla days, then getting about 1/5 cup of fuel, taking off the air cleaner, and chucking said petrol down the intake.
Cheers. Will probably do something like that, maybe.
