That actually sounds very cool. Would possibly make things easier. Will take a look later. Andy links greatly appreciated, cheers.

Yeah, that's the plan. There's no rush or time frame, but would like to learn by doing.

    Sit-Rep.

This morning it took around 15 minutes and 40 or so kicks for it to turn over and stay running, with the battery fully charged.

what could be the reason for this?

    Spark plug?

    I presume it has a spark-plug?

I will buy the long hex-nut tool to remove the helmet storage compartment on Monday, after this can get to the fuel filter to replace it and I would guess get to the spark plug to replace that.

With those changed it might start easier and stay running without needing 15 minutes and 40 attempts.

Currently it will just start and chug slowly then cut out. Getting closer and closer to running each time. Battery is full and lights on fully.

Any other ideas about this issue other than spark plug and fuel filter?

    Cheers.

    Indeed.

spray it snazzy glittery pink with real glitter, get the seat done in pink stitching, new tyres, pink furry dice

I was thinking of some stickers for when it's finished and sprayed glittery pink.

    Maybe black/charcoal:

But first I need ideas on why it is slow to turn over and takes many attempts before it will stay running, getting closer each time, other than spark plug and fuel filter.

Buy a garden hose and a couple of degreaser spray cans at the same time. Looks like it would need a bunch of them..

If anyone is around CM and actually knows what they're doing in terms of stripping down an auto scooter and installing things such as new clutches etc yer more than welcome to come to the ranch for the day after I order all the parts and we can do the whole thing together, in exchange for one small can of Leo and a 7-11 toastie.
I reckon Stumpy could probably sort out yer variation thing blindfolded but he's unlikely to offer you any advice. Pretty sure he thinks you are a trolling clown.

Was dustier than BLD's bookcase, but seemed in working order.

    No mice in there.

    Always a bonus.

    Sit-Rep is still the same.

Will turn over and stay running (just), after around 10 minutes and 50 kickstarts. Get on the gas and it will just start to move then cut out.

I used to rebuild older cars for fun and profit...entire engine, brakes, suspension, drive train but not gearboxes (too many little bits leap out whilst going 'sproing'). Difficult to give advice over the internet though, and I always try to discourage ppl away from motorbikes. I still have scars and certain ppl I knew are no longer alive because of em.

Essentially it works by a v belt between a pulley on the engine taking the input drive and a pair ot plates which are graduated (a v shaped pulley) on the transmission side (the rear wheel), these plates can move apart and the belt moves in and out (which acts as gearing), the plates are "driven" apart by weights (centtrafugal force), the faster you go the more they move apart.

Its not a complex system so you can have a go but be prepared to just chuck it on the pick up and give it to someone who knows what they are doing.

why not just take it round to stumpys?

i believe he is halfway through testing the proton x-ray particle accelerator that he built yesterday out of old bottle tops, yoghurt pots and his wife's old knicker elastic at the moment, but he should be able to spare you a few minutes to sort out your bike.

    ^

because bld is totally infatuated with him.

bld and stumpy both have a love of playing around with big oily mantools such as excavators, spanners, wrenches, pipes and jacks, although these days bld is too drunk to be able to tell the difference between a nut and a bolt

its a perfect example of manlove, of bromance. its "hey dude hows it hangin'" fistbump city, its backslapping pour me a cold one heaven, its V8 pickups, fishing rods, and some springsteen whoopin' and a hollerin'.

    and its fucking pathetic.

and yet if either didn't post you and sympl would struggle for content to "give your opinion on", the pair of you might as well just start a thread complaining about the weather, just as fukin boring and repetitive
