Ok move along people, nothing to see here. Go back to your homes.

There's no need to concern ourselves with Global Warming anymore we have much more pressing concerns and problems. Hell has frozen over!!!

I'm in 100% agreement with Dalton.

No, because Duesberg's data is false.

Normally I'm a beer man, any kind of civilized lager will do. If moving on to the stronger stuff, then I prefere Laphroaig whisky or just a simple vodka with tonic.

Just finished a book titled Collapse by Jared Diamond. Interesting read related to global warming as well as other factors. His view is there are several (he cites 12) factors related to the demise of the human race.
CO2 emissions are one but over exploitation of nonrenewable resources, destruction of natural habitats, pollution, unwillingness to recognize ecological danger and adapt, over reliance on technology to solve the problem and most important, overpopulation the major cause of the above. He concludes, all need equal attention and are interrelated and I agree.

Currently there seems to be a disproportionate focus on CO2 emissions and the others are deemed insignificant even though they contribute to global warming. He uses the analogy of an airplane's rivets. To ignore a few insignificant popping rivets while focusing on one will result in a crash.

Agree with NR, reducing CO2 emissions only makes sense regardless of one's acceptance of "global warming". I would only hope we don't forget to fix the other problems with equal passion!!

    This is Big Al's graph...

CO2 in red, temperature in blue.
You may notice that the temperature rises before the CO2 does, it's not easy to see, so here's another...

Notice the 800 year lag between temperature rise and CO2 rise?

In response to this the co-chairman of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on climate change...
Houghton acknowledges that ice core samples show CO2 driven by temperature, but then writes that the programme's assertion that "this correlation has been presented as the main evidence for global warming by the IPCC [is] NOT TRUE. For instance, I often show that diagram in my lectures on climate change but always make the point that it gives no proof of global warming due to increased carbon dioxide."
Not very good proof really. But if you move those axes around a bit it can look like it works in your favour.

Most of the arguments we are seeing here are just like pebbles rolling around in the bottom of a barrell

They are just seeing the small picture

If you get out of the barrel, you can see that the human race is more or less insignificant. Yes, we are screwing up the environment and no, we will not stop doing so.

Yes we have killed off many species and ruined many habitats with our greed, yes, we care, and no, we will not stop doing so.

But after we have totally ruined the environment, after we have made it impossible for humans to survive in any numbers, the Earth will just change and another form of life will find those conditions acceptable. It has been seen before and, no doubt, will be seen again.

We think we are important but that is only at the present time. There may be no future for us but there is a future for the Earth.
    I have reported your post

Yes we are an arrogant self important lot. When it comes to survival, the cockroach seems to be the world champ.

The scorpion & the spider do okay, too.

Mankind's days are numbered, regardless of what we do. I fear people are taking their eye off the ball. I think the biggest dangers we face are going to come from elsewhere.
