Thought I'd have a quick look as I might be back in the Land of "Smiles" from March/April. Also, it's been a decade, so I'll have to ask folks' advice on the visa process - I might come in with a tourist visa or go straight into a marriage visa (haven't done one before because I was always on work visas).

As folks might be pleased to know: nothing changes = the wife crashed the Honda City again last week (I've lost count of the amount of accidents that poor car has been in; yet, it still works as if new...).

Highly recomend you check out Thai Geeza for you region office where are and send wife to collect as any requirenents forms as possible to get done a home, Ask if BLUE or BLACK ink , yes really !!!!

Sign form about overstay new version each year here, they will have if they want

Day 60+ (after deposit cash ) not arrival, so do as early as poss as loads of holidays in April May see here

I am v lucky my neighbours work there I can walk there and back and last time with all Docs doubled checked in and out in under an hour, mostly them shiffling papers entering data on PC while I signed about 40 pages !!

If all in order you get a stamp under consideration mine took about 45 days as one copy goes off to th Brass in regional HQ or BKK somewhere for approval

Fee receipted here 1900 , around 120 for 12 color photos, 10 for fotocopies 1/2 baht each and 150 baht for Tin of Bickies for the girl who does all the work, endless signatures gives us both wifi and drink in the Aircon, So with bank letters /fotos etc all in only c1400 total

Good news it gets easier each year and only one home visits for me as they see me daily and know I really live here.
I think home visits sometimes want local witness /neighbour Poo Yai Ban in rurl , in Condo juristic person landlord to confirm you reside etc.

I always refuse to open the new bottle of quality booze on the table but make endless strong coffee last home visit in 2019 lasted 2 hours mainly wife and pal having a oood gossip no challenging questions.
I think his lunchtime visit was last call of the day.

I did not offer any petrol money as he lives round the corner , but if in a difficult to find , remote track I think a few Ales or Fruits , never ever open your wallet , once sniffed like a hungry whelp they'll be back for more.

If going income route I think little trickier 12 months of transfers never done it but know those who have on a DIY basis.There may be members here who can better advise, my info is from Oct 2022

PS if more money than time there are agents in the big cities none here in the sticks, and even if free not sure I'd want my passport with other valuable stamps "at large".

Unless copying at home I suggest you copy all pages anyway while at copy shop some places do ask for then

Given the choices of chemo, radiation treatment or surgery to remove my prostate, the latter is the best option in my circumstances, then radiation treatment if the cancer returns many years later (based on real-life probability stats), then chemo or balls removed if the cancer returns after that. The stats indicate that should give me 23 years before there are no other treatment options, at which time I'll be 86 years old...
