Is there anyone here in possession of a penis who thinks he's not a bloke? Any non-female vag badge holders here?
I mean, the stuff people get upset about these days- it's just ridiculous.
I have worked with a fair few transgenders in Thailand, and had work meetings with many more. I suppose people have a right to be identified as they wish. No real skin off my nose.
Where it all starts to go a bit agly is right around bathroom break time. Funny thing is, its the women who get right upset at transgenders using their bathroom (this basically is JK Rowlings point).
Only thing I know is that I can see and appreciate the arguements on both sides, which means it is all above my pay grade.
Is it offensive to point out that a transgender person still has a basic sex that he/ she was born with, regardless of sexual orientation (which assuredly is their own biz), or even if they wished they were born to the other sex?
We are pretty advanced in medical technology, but still can't make a woman out of a man and vice versa. Or is that offensive too? Seriously, I just don't get a lot of these raging debates these days, and what people get upset about.
Is it a thought crime to ask a genuine question? Or to try to answer it? Call me a boomer, a fossil, or even a cvnt if you like- but I am genuinely curious about why some of this stuff is deemed as inflammatory.
To me, you might deem Basil Zempilas' comment as being gratuitous or unnecessary- but offensive? Why?
U'mm, what is your point?
Well I'm not upset at all mate- but I am certainly curious why some statements that seem to me just innocuous or even stating the bluddy obvious seem to be deemed offensive by others.
If Bob down the road wants to put on a dress and be called Cheryl as long as nobody is being hurt who gives a fuck. It's certainly no effort or impact on my life to call him/her by the preferred/requested pronoun and going out of your way not to is just being an asshole.
'Don't Be An Offensive Asshole' is a simple rule and not difficult to follow.

Student watch (part 4,369): Leeds university played host to the ageing, but still exciting, antisemite leila khaled. Come on, you remember leila. Her hobby was hijacking planes back when she was a member of the judaean people’s front, or the people’s front of judaea, i forget which. At a virtual event, she urged upon her student audience the pleasures of armed resistance to everything.
Meanwhile, at clare college, cambridge, students are trying to get a porter sacked because he does not accept that trans women are women — which, of course, essentially, they are not. The students claim his beliefs mean he is “unfit for public office”.
Maybe they could replace him with old leila.

Sure. But if Bob got well upset about what Basil Zempilas said, I would ask her- Why?If Bob down the road wants to put on a dress and be called Cheryl as long as nobody is being hurt who gives a fuck.
