Well its that time of your life when you can afford to take soem risks, not a lot but i popped £10K on 3BSR, a 3x daily short Brent Oil ETF. The bet is oil over the medium term, despite OPEC intervention is going down the shitter, its c$80 atm, i bought in at $85 and ,my bet is i'll double or treble in 2-3 years, the upside could be a lot more. The ETF was £0.515p when i bought in now £0.573p - of course the downside could be big but you have to live a little

Looks like the weather is reasonably OK for 3rd and final test in Birmingham tomorrow. Or second test as Hal refers to it, only jealous I can't make it Hal.

Been a busy 7 weeks. The first week of August my daughter Vanessa got engaged down in Malibu at Pt. Dume to her boyfriend Marcus. We just got news today my daughter Kayleigh got engaged last night down in Santa Barbara. Their mom and I are very happy indeed.

    Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.

Incredibly in its 7th season. I don't know what it is about the programme but I find it quite cheering in the current gloom and doom laden world. They had 3 reruns yesterday which was a nice hour and half.

^ How about 'Malmo and Mendip: Gone Fishing'?

With the added attraction of cheap Thai alcohol and a pack of street dogs?

Could be on to something here...

A baby born at 35 weeks from the date of conception, isn't likely to be chubby with a head full of hair, is it?

Finished Book2 of my kindergarten Thai book today. It has taken a while.
The sharp eyed will notice that this text has no tone marks. Only the consonants and basic vowels so far. Tones come along in Book 3.

35 weeks is pretty early - typically defined as moderate to late preterm.

That's great Shutree, I must admit that I didn't notice the absence of tone marks but do they really matter?

When do you advance to primary level?

I have my own literary cheer... a couple of nights ago the daughter beat me at Scrabble for the first time. Whilst I wasn't happy about losing I must admit that I was secretly impressed about her performance.

Early on she came up with 'FELINES' and took a 50 point bonus for a seven letter word. I've never seen that done before. So, 85 points for one go... there was no coming back from that. Proud father.

That's wonderful and a great gift in addition to parental love and support. I often explain to my long suffering partner the value of all the free Engrish Tuning, she gives me the "look " indicating if their was a receipt she'd try for refind at teh airport, but seriously being fluent makes the world her Oyster and Uni in developed world a breeze.

Forget fishing if you can teach the pack Scrablle maybe with edible treat letters I foresee a viral TikToke, you could be raking in enough for a Saville row besposke cargo shorts safari suits with a Gilet with bottle opener hook like me I bought in an Andorran duty free hunting shop in some Absinthe induced coma.
