As usual frisco has blown me away with honest approach to his life and this forum with an excellent account of his formative years.
I also gotta say that I am well impressed wth Mrs Q posting this thread coz I wish I had thought of it.

When I was seventeen I was just finishing school and spent most of my days truant at the beach surfing. Partying was what we all did back then and I got to say that I had a ball.
I had just learned to drive and my brother (not Crackerjack, the other one) gave me a car that I called 'Urge'. It was a Wolesly1500(sp) and had a MGB engine that was so powerful that it would just break the drive axels if I accelerated from stop too quickly.
I was a surfer as opposed to a surfee which was very important back then. I dressed in Levi 501's and raglan sleeve T-shirts with a chest pocket. A sloppy joe (like the top I am wearing in the pic below) was allowed in winter.
My peer and I lived for the beach and the lifestyle.

I had several girlfiends during that period and lost my virginity to the Captain of Cremorne Girls High School in the back seat of Urge.

It sure was a great time in my life and I never actually finished school coz I got caught smoking dope in the 6th form room. I was told that I could finish school but would not be allowed sit the Higher School Certificate.
I wernt a bad kid. A bit of a rebel but I had another agenda.

I remember those Wolseley 1500s. The back axle was from the Minor 1000 range and was just about strong enough for the standard 1500 engine. Lucky that the half shafts were so easy to change.

Yeah. I changed umpteen axel splines. It got to a point were I had to carry two spare axels in the boot.
