I may have a job offer up in northern Alberta which is very cold and isolated, but is a way to save big bucks for a year or two. Hmm.. need to look into this more.

Truth be told TB has no idea what she wants to do. But loves being the center of attention. Hence three threads. I am moving to Thailand. Holiday ideas for Bali, and I am thinking of moving back to Canada. It seems to never end.

When you said Alberta, I thought a big city.

Even I refused a job in Nunavut upon graduation.

There is no point moving from Asia to Nunavut. Price of a watermelon is like 50 bucks and rentals are very expensive.

Rather do minimum wage in the city.

Apparently, my rent would be paid.. I would get a $4000 northern allowance per year. I think with the salary they may offer, I would be able to hopefully save a big chunk of change. I'd love to be able to save some for retirement or rent/buy a house somewhere at some point. I'm not saving much here..with the cost of living and the lowish pay.

Yeah, but there is always a change and readjustment when you go back to your roots. As I mentioned, I went back for a year and a half and then came back to Asia. I think because I didn't get a full-time teaching job at the time, I came back abroad. I think it would be really hard after being abroad for 12 years to readjust, but certainly plausible as I still have many friends back there.
