Ive always preferred Samui, Ao Nang, Koh Samet, Koh Chang... all the Thai islands over Phuket tbh. But I wouldnt want to live full time in any of those tourist traps,

I'm near South Chonburi which always gets a bad rap, but for the schooling, location, fresh air, vicinity to airports, weather, Brit food and shopping its a great all rounder.
