Mandalay, Myanmar- but only for 27 more days and counting. It's a city that at first can be a bit hard to love, scratch beneath the surface and it's quite livable. The locals are friendly enough and will often go out of their way to help. Lots of Chinese and Indians here and thankfully they brought their cuisine with them, as some of you know, I fecking HATE HATE HATE Myanmar's traditional food. Oily poison. We now have "Mandalay Door to Door" a food delivery service and it is a welcome addition to a city with almost no mass public transport. There is a city bus- yes that's supposed to be singular and it's not a typo!

There's plenty of things to do if you're into outdoors activities, if not it could be a boring city for you. Almost no nightlife, but this is changing slowly. I'll miss the place for its proximity to amazing mountains, waterfalls and rivers. Will miss it less so for its dirtiness and lack of good public infrastructure. The city also badly needs a big park that people can easily reach imo
