So you don't have a quad or side by side yet or is this just a frivolous upgrade ?![]()
I'll assume frivolous upgrade. But watch him try and justify it by saying he needed USB charge ports for his GPS or some bullshite![]()
I can't help picturing him posting in curlers.
Modern day GPS/Satellite Navigation is the second most important contribution to the history of Transport.
What did we have before that?
The wife with a fucking map.
Which, in my case, was nearly always upside down! These GPS systems have made trips a whole lot easier and without the arguments over why we were lost.
My latest impulse buy...
This has been hours and hours of fun and we only bought it last weekend.
Even with just the playstation control consoles the racing has been fun. Definitely not to be taken seriously, as I've seen some do on youtube, but for taking the stress out of arriving home after being stuck in the rush-hour traffic.
Wife is in hysterics watching Mad Troy's route 1 to victory.![]()
I had the original Gran Turismo on the original Playstation in 1997.
I had another go for GT3 I think it was, but I remember being pissed off at the realism of it and having to get the driving licenses and reverting back to Burnout 3 - which is now available on PS5.
Maybe I've matured enough to revisit the GT series.
Problem is that I lose the controller to the kids just as soon as I set everything up and die.
Lang may yer lum reek...
what brand? what model? interested to know the results.....
^I enjoyed the movie
My latest impulse buy is this rinky dinky watchpiece (my 2nd since page 1)
It is not the latest model but you save a bucket of cash by being a trailing edge technology adopter.
I don't know how that green laser light that shines into your wrist works but it tells me stuff about my body I had not a clue about.
I am going to try and get over the line on today's step count target by popping it over onto my right wrist before jumping into my scratcher with xHamster on the laptop tonight.
Hope I don't break the accelerometer.
^ I'm not sure about these watches... A couple of friends have them (and the iApple version) and seem to love them - but, they can be very pricey.
I recently bought some new bluetooth earbuds. To be honest, I've had several before such as Shure (crap bluetooth connection and charging), Beats (crap) the Samsung Buds (came free with a Galaxy Note, but were decent sound and all round usage), 3 or 4 different cheap brands for the gym (all were crap). These new ones are by far the best I've had: great sound, comfy fit, easy to use, excellent app, long battery life, the case keeps the charge for weeks (if not longer) without being recharged, passive noise cancelling, active noise cancelling, transparency mode - everything really. They are pricey, but by far the best option out there, imho.
(The iPhone 13 mini is crap with close shots...)
Sony WF-1000XM5. I use them with my iPhone 13mini, and they work perfectly (although Apple codecs are not the best...).
A/B'd against my Shure 846 wired ear buds, the Sony bluetooth buds lack somewhat, but as bluetooth earbuds for your phone they work great. I'm very happy with them.
Cycling should be banned!!!
It's a technical term - I like to move the discourse frame into technical areas when suitable...![]()
Put them on the floor when you watch the match tonight. If it goes wrong then you'll have something to stomp on. (You could cut out small pictures of Erasmus and Faff du Faffy to tape onto your headphones?)
But, you're right that generally speaking, a lot of cheap electronics are made to a decent quality level nowadays (not sure about the sound quality and other elements?).
I've got a pair of 'Beats'.
As you say, not a great sound (though far better than they used to be) but the funkers seem to be indestructible.
^ I had the first generation and didn't like the sound. The latest generation is supposed to be much improved and sound pretty good.
There are a couple of small areas that I'd like to pressure wash in a couple of upstairs outside terraces. Our pressure washer is something of a monster, a Hyundai Hurricane, good for around 225 bar but extremely heavy. Was looking for something light and came across a whole range of rechargeable battery driven lightweight pressure washers, primary use being washing cars.
Anyway, ordered one which just arrived and after charging both of the supplied batteries, gave it a go. Certainly lightweight, and decent pressure for car washing and light stone cleaning. Battery life seems to be around 30 minutes. Comes supplied with a small bore hose so you can use a bucket of water as a source.

Just need a shirt to match that green hose and you're sorted for Songkran.![]()
