    Cheers.

How do I get my 'private keys'? Sorry for the luddite question.

I sign into coins.co.th, I see the 'wallet address' button.

It says: Share this address to receive money from your friends, or use it to transfer money from another bitcoin service.

Followed by a line of number and letter code that is presumably my wallet key, and a QR Code to scan.

But that wallet is presumably created and hosted by coins.co.th.

Do I create a USB wallet using another program or company, transfer them all to that, then lock that away and note the keys etc? Or is there a way to transfer my current coins.co.th wallet from their site onto a USB, and the keys and code I have now stay the same? Cheers.

In the end the market is going to be saturated with blockchains, I can't imagine BTC or any other block chain being worth much by the time the market is mature, unless they are designed fora specialised market. But for now loadsamoney. c

Coins.co.th is an exchange, they control your keys.

You need to set up you own wallet and transter the coins there where you will be in control.

If you're on a laptop or desktop the Exodus wallet is pretty handy, as it handles many coins and you trade coin the wallet.

For handheld devices there are many options too.

Leaving very much coin on the exchanges is not recomended.

Like I mentioned you are now your own banker, and have the responsility for your coins, which are simply mathematical code that is stored.

Thanks very much Earl, I'll set up exodus later today.

Are there any fees/cuts, or is it fully free?

    Thanks again.

When you move the coin there are fees involved, bitcoin right now has different levels of fees. Pick the normal or slow transfer selection.
When you exchange currency there are commision fees about .25%
The advantage of the Exodus wallet is you dont pay any transfer fees between the exchange and you wallet.

    Great, thanks.

Anyone buy Etherium or Dascoin with bx.in.th?

Thinking of splitting the next payment three ways. With bx.in.th do you have 3 separate wallets, one for each cryptocurrency, or is it a different set up than having a BC wallet? Cheers.

On my android I've been using JAXX wallet to store smaller amounts of BTC, ETH, LTC, DASH, ZEC
I want to buy some more XMR but it needs a stand alone wallet. XMR is said to be the best for totally private/ anonymous transactions.
Bitcoin transactions are not private, they are kept on a public ledger.

Not a bad idea to spread the coin around on different electronic wallets, but keep most of it on a hardwallet which is safe from any computer hack.

Bitcoin is the primary store of value while the other coins are good for trading and buying pussy.

Also the best way to secure your keys is just on paper writen in pencil, and lock it in a safe.

Pictures and thumbdrives are kinda more vulnerable.

BTC is pioneer stuff, the early mover that took off, with hundreds of other cryptos being churned out by wannabe gazillionaires. Given that part of BTC attraction is anonymity, which needs to be balanced against security, I reckon the next ballbusting crypto will be more (relatively) secure, perhaps using biometrics.

You are quite right but not in the way you are thinking....

This technology is evolving so fast it might catch many with their pants down.

There is a Quantum computing technology on the horizon which will be a game changer.

There is web talk that this will happen next year. But market signals say otherwise.

This quantum stuff is likely already under the control of the NSA.

The USA federal reserve has to launch the Fed Coin first to help rescue the USD.

But maybe the rooskies will quantum compute first, then the USA will launch the nuke card. Then it wont be safe even to eat a tomato!

It's most amusing to go back to page 2 of this thread, one year ago :

And in response to Baldrick :

    - the idea that the value of bitcoin increases as it used more is beyond stupidity in economic principles. In economic terms, it's called inflation, not appreciation. Yet in bitcoin terms it's called appreciation of value
    - the decentralization of the mint as some kind of independence thing is ludicrous, it's not even a real topic, except for nutjobs who are scared of the Federal Reserve bank, and that was main the reason behind it.
    - The decentralization of the mint brings a whole series of issues, notably in terms of security.
    - Having independent Exchanges for it, proved that fraud and security flaws are still present and that nothing has been solved with Bitcoin.
    - Mining is now expensive as everyone is doing it, the value of mining a bitcoin is more expensive that the energy bill used to pay for your servers. With millions of chinese students using their university computers to mine bitcoins render the mining job worthless. Unless of course you don't pay for the electricity.
    - Bitcoin was to produce an alternative stable currency, it turns out it's insecure and unstable as the value is very volatile, and has crashed multiple times, more than Wall Street in 1927

Blockchain technology though has some uses, but bitcoin ? please, only idiots fall for that one, no wonder all the idiotic Chinese peasants are on it.

Some French literature book, so too big and too sophisticated for you
In the long run, it's going to crash, of course. There is no fundamental value. But oh how I wish I had bought some only a year ago, and made more than 10 times my money. ....not to mention before that....

and I stand by words and predictions, the thing is unstable and insecure

the question is not if you have missed out, everyone missed out every day on the big lotto win, and do you whine about it ?

every day some traders on FX make 10% a day and possibly more than bitcoins spectacular profits, did you miss out ? would you have invested with them ? of course not

so why would you on Bitcoins ? because the index is published and "average" idiots are playing the games, and you are jealous of the "average" idiot who could have been you

playing dangerous games like bitcoins is not for the "average person", period. So there is no miss out. Even for me, I don't feel like I missed out, because I don't believe in bubbles. If it was tulips being sold, I wouldn't buy them either.

Jesus, some people here are really desperate to make any kind of money

Certainly caught JPMorgan with their pants down, when CEO Jamie Dimon announced a while back that bitcoins are "stupid" and destined to crash, then more recently in Sept of this year that bitcoin is a "fraud" that will blow up and anyway govs would close down cryptocurrencies if they get too big, then just a month later (Oct) that JPMorgan are about to launch their own blockchain-based system partnering with two other banks...in other words we cocked up and missed out bigtime, but we're big and rich so not too late to catch up.
