It's not about getting blotto, it's about consuming a quality beer which means less is more and not ending up being a fat fuck because of consuming way to much liquid.

An example may be the throttlers who drink pints at the happy hour to get there swill up against the punter who pays a premium price for a quality strong beer and consumes less.
