According to the Oxford Dictionary, apart from "causing laughter", "Amusing" means : providing entertainment.

And that has also previously been my understanding.
And God damn your fucking sense of entertainment.

    Sensitive wee thing aren't you.
And I think Oxford have it wrong if they think anything that provides entertainment can be considered 'amusing'.
Perhap erring on the side of PC.
    Dictionary.com describes it as
    amusing
    [uh-myoo-zing]
    adjective
    1.pleasantly entertaining or diverting:
    an amusing speaker.
2.causing laughter or mirth; humorously entertaining:
    an amusing joke.
Notice how it does say entertaining but qualifies it as 'pleasantly' entertaining.
But in the context of this thread I consider it to be meaning 2.
I mean boxing provides entertainment but I doubt anyone would consider it 'amusing' or 'pleasantly' entertaining.
    Well maybe sometimes.

Perhaps we should ask Diaw, the OP, whether he meant amusing in the sense of anything that provides entertainment or amusing in the sense of causing laughter or mirth, to be HUMOROUSLY entertaining.

Amusing comes from the Middle French word amuser. The English word originally meant "to deceive by distraction." The more benign funny and enjoyable meanings didn't arise until much later.

But it seems that we have offended the sensibilities of Koojo, the forum's HUMOUR POLICEMAN.

    Here's the thing LD.

    IT IS MUCH LATER.

I sure didn't mean the ye olde English meaning of amusing.
