Why do all ThaiVisa threads end in a slanging match?

Being a regular on TV forum (sorry for that admission - nobody is perfect), I note with increasing concern that whatever new thread is started, it always ends in a 'you are a dick' or 'my dick is bigger than yours' post and the mods have to close the thread.

Here on TD, we are all gentlemen, (except for those who are ladies), and it is possible to start a new thread, enjoy some mild leg-pulling and polite jokes, - and the thread usually remains interesting, informative and entertaining.

If one does want to partake in name-calling, the lack of heavy censorship on TD means that I can confidently call a poster a total and utter twatface, without worrying (too much) about being banned.

So why does TV forum suffer from this malaise? And what magic potion does TD offer to avoid this embarrassing problem?

Seems as all the forums are developing the same character as it applies to posting members and their conflicting personalities. All threads end up nasty - nature of the forums and members.

What is dramatically different might be the respected policies of each forum - situations are handled differently.

This disposition has developed only because of the firm TV policy.
So...folks tend to drift this way.

In my opinion, both are worse than themselves but TD uses and can use the fuck etc word. Whereas TV cannot.

TV is crap, but some of the old timers do have helpful knowledge (I presume, haven't been there since being banned many many years ago).

Here has always been better although we do have our ups and downs and very few posters consistently maintain the quality I manage to; I like to set a high bar....
