I don't keep still long enough to take root.
That's what cuffs are for
Diddums, Pats has found that putting a bottle of voddy in the freezer is rather enjoyable mixed with orange juice.
The box of whine and beers are still there.
But that syrupy vodka is ok. and a bit yumsy. Santé
Well not today, but over the weekend.
The name alone say's enough.
Matured without chill filtration for a huge peaty punch,
this complex whisky is aged in Limousine oak casks.
Some taste peat smoke, fresh cinnamon and spicy sea spray.
Superb taste.
Some nice Gift Packs on the market as well.
Christmas coming up.
This particular one Diurachs' is perhaps the 'bees knees!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Fragrant, slightly floral cereal, some minerality
at first, becoming increasingly creamy with a hint of orange.
Mixed nuts, redcurrant, green apple and finally dark chocolate
and spice.
Palate: Oily and resinous with sweet tobacco,
mixed nuts, clove, milk chocolate and violet.
Rich and round.
Finish: Drying, fragrant oak.
After a few sips some chocolate lingers too.
Overall: The whisky of choice for the
Isle of Jura's 200 or so inhabitants.
I don't exactly ring a bell with all the fancy terminology, but it's good.
All the women take their blouses off
And the men all dance on the polka dots
It's closing time !
Damn, welcome back Mathos. That's a nice looking malt.Originally Posted by Mathos
I must try it sometime.
Rich and round sounds more like a description of the taster.
The end result of a half pint would read fat and happy with a hungover finish.
I'd love to try it myself.
I have just knecked 5 Dark beer Lao's @ the Roadhouse.
Feels good now, but tomorrow maybe not. ????
Ha Ha.
Lots.
Are you having any memory problems, eh? If you're so drunk you don't remember what you're doing, you can safely assume you're going to be hung over too. Unfortunately, you won't remember the answer either.Originally Posted by terry57

That really is a superb drink. I was introduced to the
same a few years since and must say;-
An outstanding drink, but watch it, it's one of those
that could very easily be 'habit-forming'
I only recently tried 'The Diurachs'
It's very special.
Two or three fingers in a nice crystal tumbler.
Some very nice gift packages I noticed recently.
A Malt like Jura really deserves
to be handled with perfection.
This seems the perfect way to let Flobo know
what would be a nice 'Christmas Box'
Well you need to Fishlocker, it's available in the majority of 'Good Stockists'
It seems a waste of good time to me for anyone not
venturing forth in any aspect of life,
The 'Doors of Perception' spring to mind and Aldous Huxley.
Early 50's and Huxley submitted himself to the clinically detailed
experiment of physiological and psycho-logical effects with regards
to Peyote.
An hallucinogenic and intoxicating compound present
in the peyote cactus, now commonly know as mescaline.
The original use was a Shaman type of entertainment.
From the settling of the first Europeans in the New World,
Peyote has provoked controversy, suppression, and persecution.
Plant of 'The Gods'
No good going through life and not trying things out,
that can be very damaging to the mind.
Similar to folk going through life and not trying something out
because Mum & Dad told them 'Not To!
Well Philip Larkin summed it all up with a verse or two.
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.
Most people don't realize they can obtain that cactus legally at many gardening/flower shops. It's called the San Pedro cactus:Originally Posted by Mathos
I had one growing on my condo's balcony in CA. I used to wait until a sprout/limb starts growing out of the top/side. I'd wait until it got to be about a foot long then cut it off. The process is not very complicated but, as implied, it does require eating/drinking quite a bit of it and it's not very pleasant tasting. As far as the legality goes, it's not illegal until it's ingested. And if you don't do anything stupid, like driving or going out to public places when you know you're not behaving normally, it's very easy to keep that a secret.
Another easy to obtain and legal psychedelic plant available at gardening shops are Morning Glory seeds:
These are much easy to ingest: chew and swallow. The seeds of several varieties of Morning Glory (Ipomoea violacea) contain a naturally occurring indole called Lysergic Acid Amide (LSA), which is closely related to LSD. Seeds are taken orally, and can be eaten whole or the active alkaloids can be extracted.
The most common active varieties of seeds are Heavenly Blue, Pearly Gates, and Flying Saucers. Like LSD, LSA acts as a "psychedelic" or "hallucinogen" which can have strong mental effects.
You can grow these plants also but it's much more convenient just to buy packets of the seeds.
What are you drinking today?

I know this is not 'great' whiskey... but I'm feeling better (after the flu)
so might have a drink later tonight...
If you could recommend a really good single malt, I would appreciate it.
Almost any.Originally Posted by NZdick1983

Depends if you like them really peaty, or you prefer a more subtle taste, or a salty whiskey.
Cheers!
I have 2 in mind that I want to try... (in order of price).
1. Teachers Highland Cream (supposed to be one of the best blends/for the price) $40 NZ *will mix with coke... I know, I know...
2. Highland Park 12YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky $98 NZ *will drink this sucker neat...
Ah blended wiyt coke what made Bolivia famous and keeps the dentist going, the poisonous tooth rot from Atlanta will of course rot your teeth and totally undue the premium you paid, might as well drink pepsi with arse gravy of any alcoholic some are travelling in shopping trolleys to take waiting outta wanting
I bloody well hope so.Originally Posted by NZdick1983
Perhaps a drop or two of cold water to open it up a little.
I know, Dave...
It's sinful... but it tastes good! I am on the path though - determined to ween myself off mixers and onto drinking it straight...
Thanks for the tip, KW.. do you guys agree with my 2nd choice then?
Yes, I do. It's a lightly peated malt, that's very nice.Originally Posted by NZdick1983
Try mixing just a little water, or even a single ice cube, not more. Malts are for sipping and savouring. Roll it around your tongue, taste the flavours.Originally Posted by NZdick1983
cheers mate!
Thanks Dave... what do you drink?
