A mate of mine got pissed on Tequila once never again.

He got a text 9 months later congratulating him on being a daddy.
He didn't believe her and had a paternity test.

She threatened him saying he would never see his child if he had a DNA test coz she worked at the CSA and it would have made her look like a slapper to her colleagues.

Confirmed dad has to shell out £400 a month for 18 years direct from his wages every month.

Never got to see his child.

That Tequila shag cost him £80k
    Shalom

^^ Its the devils water. I have had other run ins with it, mainly between 15 and 18 YO and none of then good. We went through a phase at 17 when on a Friday we'd go to the pub early have a few beers and then get 4 bottles of Mezcal between 4 of us and get wankered in the park of summers evening with the odd trip mixed in. I don't remember any of those times getting home.

Totally agreed. The night is going one way after 5 or 6 pints when someone shouts a round of that in.

No idea how JP savours it. It's a one way track to being a 100% social hand grenade.

Morning all. Well I have to say, Tequila and I have always got on well, even in the early rot gut days. Had me some crazy fun nights drinking it. I learned early on (especially with Mezcal) you gotta pace yourself. I have many a friend who used to crack a bottle and get stupid in an hour and most would puke or pass out. Didn't hang around them long as I like my evening of drinking to last.

That pour last night was delicious and relaxing. I guess in the end we all have our likes and dislikes with spirits. Many, as we all say, are an acquired taste but my days of shots and chasers to avoid the smell and the violent shiver head shake are gone.

    Cheers.

As it is to be said, JP - Tequila is to be savoured and sipped, not guzzled.
'Tis wonder why some have bad experiences with it.

Here are 3 fine examples from my cabinet.

Finished in various barrels before bottling. I have had the Cognac finished before. Again outstanding to enjoy in a nice glass relaxing.

I would open all three at the same time and do a little taste test comparison to note the different tastes that the casks give the tequila. Be fun.

I can relate to that. Been off all hard liquor for almost 3 years now, but the last good time was before the Warriors championship game 3 years ago. At my buddies house in San Rafael Ca. Had a pregame tasting of his nice tequila selection. Boy did my wife enjoy that. What a game.

I think you will find that it is generally served warm or at room temperature, but can be savored in anyway you like.

Which is what I used to think too. But in Japan a friend introduced me to chilled sake and it is very, very good.

Although sake is usually served warm, it’s also quite good either chilled, at room temperature, or hot. Cheaper sake is often warmed to disguise its low grade, and premium sake is served chilled.

    Mojito time

Headed out to our lime tree in the back forty, then stopped by the Mint shrub

Added the rock sugar, 10 or so mint leaves and 4 lime slices per each glass and muddled for a good 1 minute or so ( 1 for me, 1 for wife)

Added a few ounces of Bacardi to each glass and topped off with the Schweppes.

Do you use straws Jay? if not, a syrup dipped then salt rimmed glass, umbrellas and sparklers would top those off nicely.

A great refreshing drink for the heat. Nice job.
