Well, in terms of Google having all your data - if you have a Gmail account, not only do they archive your 'stuff' but also pass it along to governmental authorities as well.

What Brazil is attempting to do with their own private Internet sounds like the way all countries will go in future.

NSA etc will probably still break their algorithms...

I cannot remember being bumped into either - this sounds like a common furphy used by the "get off my lawn brigade" to justify not having a smartphone because then they would have to carry their reading glasses handily with them everywhere.
