    26 April 2016
A 26-year-old woman died after crossing train tracks hoping to spot a legendary half-human, half-goat creature.
Roquel Bain, of Dayton, Ohio, was in Louisville, Kentucky with her boyfriend when they heard the urban legend about the mythical beast.
According to the legend, a creature known as the Pope Lick Monster lives under the trestle and tricks trespassers into crossing the train tracks.
Bain and her boyfriend were walking on the trestle, which stands 80 to 100 feet high, when a train surprised them, KLTV reported.
The couple heard the Pope Lick Monster legend and decided to check out the site in Louisville, Deputy Coroner Jack Arnold said according to KLTV.
The myth has it that a creature looking like a cross between a man and a goat lives under the Pope Lick trestle, next to the Fisherville neighborhood east of Louisville.
The beast is rumored to hypnotize visitors and trick them into crossing the trestle, luring them to their death as they get hit by an oncoming train.
Bain and her boyfriend went up the trestle on Saturday evening and were walking on it when a train arrived.

^ A recent death attributed to that goatman.

The Deadly Legend Of Kentucky’s Pope Lick Monster

Latest mysterious death all but guarantees the goat man legend lives to scare another day

Some say the terrifying being that haunts the Pope Lick train trestle in Louisville, Kentucky is a half-man, half-goat. Others say he’s an escaped circus animal that was mutated into a monster by a lightning strike on the tracks; still others say he was a farmer who once had intimate relations with a local goat. Whatever his origin story, one thing’s for certain: the Goatman of Pope Lick has just claimed his latest victim.

Last week, an Ohio couple sought to investigate the Pope Lick Goatman for themselves. A woman named Roquel Bain, 26, from Dayton and her companion climbed the eight-story trestle near the monster’s rumored home, as many curious locals and travelers have done for decades. They ignored warnings to keep out; Northern and Suffolk Railroad, who owns the track, has clearly posted signs and erected an 8-foot fence in an attempt to deter rubberneckers and would-be paranormal sleuths.

When Bain and her companion saw a train barreling toward them at 30 miles per hour, they soon found they had no escape. According to the Louisville Courier Journal, they were about 40 feet away from safety, but there wasn’t enough time to disembark from the towering tracks. So they tried to hang off the sides of the track as the train rumbled past. It didn’t work for Bain, who was hit by the train and fell nearly 100 feet down to her death. Her companion was uninjured. The Goatman who lured them there, as always, was nowhere to be found. And so the legend continues.

It's a classic thread, Boo...I was thinking maybe a Buffalo Thread...But I know it would never be as popular as fish or goats...Though, I don't rightly know why...Probably something sexual...

I read somewhere that goats make better domestic pets than dogs or cats or pot bellied pigs.

If Neo had any brain, i am sure he will have take a piccie of a goat in Croatia. Probably very cute.

There were no goats in Sri Lanka when you sat on that beach all alone....

Reminds me of going to the petting zoo when i was a kid, then i took my nephew, and next year will take my great niece. Three generations.

We love goats, and lambs, and penguins.

Did you know that Edinburgh Zoo has the most prolific and different species of penguins in captivity in the World?

Well now you do. Put that in your Pub Quiz hat.
