I'm thinking about riding my bike up Doi Suthep (elevation gain 1676m over 15k) in CM

Did you know that the oldest Chinatown in the world is in Manila? I sure didn't. Established in 1594. Wife saw that on a Filipino cooking show on TV. I disputed it. I looked it up. I lost. Learn something every day.

Is that why most Filipinas proclaim themselves to be part Chinese . . . or 'better - part Spanish?

But, nope - I ddn't know that and am surprised - kudos to Mrs Davis Knowlton

^In fact, a huge percentage of Filipinos have Spanish or Chinese bloodlines, or both. The missus has very Chinese eyes; one of the twins does, one doesn't.

The most amazing thing is that they can take all those amazing cuisine influences, chinese, spanish, a bit of malay - and turn it into mud.

It's amazing, isn't it . . . easily the worst cuisine in this region, if not anywhere

Believe Mongolia has the worst-tasting food in this region...

Dunno about that, the Mongolians have some ok food.

Haven't tasted Mongolian, but it would have to be bloody awful to beat Filipino cuisine.

Mongolian BBQ is quite nice as well as their 'Mongolian Beef' where you choose your sauces, veggies and meats and stir fry it on a hot plate with long chopsticks

Yummy . . . used to be a nice Mongolian restaurant in Manly . . .

. . . and nothing is worse than Filipino food

Was referring to Mongolian food in Mongolia. Akin to Chinese food in China which, to be frank, sucks.

Just paid for my daughter's first concert tickets - some bunch of monkeys called "Bamboo". And thus it begins.......................I miss Dora and Barbie already.

Took 2 hours to ride up Doi Suthep, half hour to come back down.

I finally got rid of Santa's hat.
