You may well be right. I watched Thais do some crazy high wire deal while welding with shorts. Not saying very smart but never even flinched. But get a westerner to do that plus other things I have seen would be met with sighs, whines and then be hit with a huge inconvenience bill just because they really do not want to do it. Plus they work in the heat without requiring humidifier fans or special wicking clothes...Just saying.....

Improvising solutions.
Yesterday I had True sat put in. two guys rock up in a van to do the job. they look at the house and say that due to the way the eave is built they cant bolt the dish to it securely.
Instead of going away they look around, find a 6 inch thick teak log under the house, send someone off for a bag of cement, dig a hole, plant the post and bolt it to that. all in time for me to watch the rugby.

Last time I tried to get cable on in Oz they turned up but wouldn't do it as the cable would have to cross about 4 ft of the next doors yard and they needed his permission (he was away). It would only have added to the existing power and phone line which also crossed his yard at the same place.

Thais kiss ass more convincingly.
