For those who wanted an Aus v Wales final, you still get an interesting 3rd place playoff. 1st time the 3rd place playoff might be interesting.

Australia
Engerland
France

Sorry bud, having a second weekend running of bad sporting resultsOriginally Posted by happynz
I would love to see the All blacks stamp all over the French.
Good Luck Mate
^^ FFS, anyone here going to watch the playoff to see who came third
Winning is Everything, Second is Nowhere
It's interesting to pit a Welsh team on the ascendency against a SH nation. A measure of what's to come if you like.
I think those games are a waste of time and effort. Completely meaningless.Originally Posted by Plan B

It's the first one I will actually be bothered to watch. Both teams are young and have points to prove.
The French are a very good group of players who haven't played at all, yet made it to the final... The NZ camp will be expecting a tough game, and they may (or may not...) get it.
I reckon the French will be a good price and worth a bet.
Cycling should be banned!!!
The Chokers Vs Unpredictable French (who regularly beat the Chokers...).
It is not a foregone conclusion by any means. If the French come out hard and strong, keep the game close for the first 20, maybe get the rub of the green and nick a lead; see the Chokers lose direction and fall apart... If...
I reckon it will be a better game than the final.Originally Posted by harrybarracuda
Both be good games, but NZ to kick the french of the park
was a great game.I was at Eden Park.I just hope that the French "b" side turns up on Sunday.....
Disappointed in the Wallabies actually- not because they lost, but because they gave themselves no chance to win. They didn't play to their strengths at all, rather their weaknesses, and Quade Cooper was a bad letdown again. No idea why they didn't start with Barnes and Cooper. No favors from the ref either, but I don't think that mattered all that much. Someone sold the Australian team the script that you have to play negative in finals RWC, and on that basis they couldn't possibly win.
NZ looked great- what a well rounded team, just great everywhere. They are without a shadow of a doubt the best team in this RWC, and without a shadow of a doubt they deserve to lift the trophy, as they shortly will. MoM Corey Jane- heck, I can't believe he was a 'second choice'. Aaron Cruden too- jeez, where has he been hiding. I reckon he's a champ in the making. In contrast, I don't think the wallabies can afford Quade Cooper, and I think it was a coaching mistake to persevere with him.

To me the guy just doesn't look happy. I've never seen the guy smile. Not that that makes him a bad player but he just doesn't look.... Struggling for a word now. Comfortable ?Originally Posted by sabang

Good job it werent a knockout competion from the off, or the Aussies would have been the biggest embarassment of this RWC
Woohoo!Originally Posted by Plan B
Think you have it there. He can be great open runner, but he is suspect with his kicking and he set the Aus back on their heels from the kick off. NZ encroach the laws around the breakdown very cleverly. Also they where quicker last night at everything. Last night a world 15 (or a Wales 14) would have had their hands full.Originally Posted by sabang
Think the best games have past. France will be swept aside by the wave of black next weekend. Wales v Aus could be good but will not have the intensity of last night.
Wales V Australia will be a no contest. Wales will not have a number 7.
Australia's next 5 International games are against Wales, I suggest the other 4 will be better.

Craig Joubert will referee the final.
Touch Judges will be Alain Rolland and Nigel Owens.
Rolland is officially the reserve referee.
Wayne Barnes will referee the non event on Friday.
Think everyone will agree that he has been the outstanding referee in the tournament, one by the way that I think has been well refereed apart from a couple of poor performances.
^ we will see
anyway, the French are clear underdogs and this is a cup match so anything could happen
The Wallabies scrum was once again exposed on numerous occasions as we all expected.
They have been searching for a decent combination for it seems forever and obviously cannot find one.
And rightly so. Let's hope the AB's get a few in the sin bin for never getting onside.Originally Posted by Bobcock
He didn't do it yesterday, what makes you think he will do it next week?
Pocock's face was a picture when he got pinged for going off his feet first time.....
"but ref, last week it was OK....."
