Today in the Grand Prix of Aragon, Casey Stoner claimed his eighth win of the season in front of over 63,000 spectators. Not only did Casey celebrate another fantastic weekend where he recorded fastest pole position (1'48.451) and also fastest race lap (1'49.046), but he also took the Respol Honda team's 100th Victory since the partnership was born in 1995 when fellow Australian Mick Doohan won the very first race of the factory HRC team in Repsol Livery in Eastern Creek.
Dani Pedrosa completed a 1-2 finish for the Repsol Honda Team, which had a special livery for race day in Aragon, with a comfortable margin over Lorenzo. Unfortunately team mate Andrea Dovizioso had an accident on the first lap and was unable to continue.
Championship leader Casey Stoner now enjoys a forty four point margin over Lorenzo in second place, with Dovizioso in third position and Pedrosa close behind in fourth.
The Championship now heads east to Japan for round fifteen in Motegi on October 2nd where alongside it's contracted riders, HRC will enter Shinichi Ito as a wild card entry in a HRC Team while Kosuke Akiyoshi will ride alongside Toni Elias for LCR as a show of support for the East Japan area.

Pedrosa takes maiden victory at Motegi, Stoner third and Dovizioso fifth

Pedrosa celebrated the 400th win for a Spaniard in Grand Prix racing and gave the Repsol Honda Team its first ever victory at the Motegi circuit at the Grand Prix of Japan on Sunday. It's also the first win for Honda at this track since Makoto Tamada was victorious aboard his Camel Honda in 2004. Joining Pedrosa on the podium, accepting the constructors trophy was Mr. Takanobu Ito - President, Chief Executive Officer and Representative Director of Honda.
The three Repsol Honda riders made a fantastic start and led the race as a pack for the first four laps, until Stoner experienced a big wobble on lap five and ran off track. Dovizioso then led the race but took a ride through penalty for a jump start. Pedrosa took the lead and improved his pace lap by lap to take a comfortable win by more than seven seconds ahead of Lorenzo. Stoner fought his way back up the field to finish on the podium. After his penalty, Dovizioso got back on the pace quickly and had a great battle with Marco Simoncelli on the final two laps for fourth position, but was overtaken by Simoncelli on the last lap.

He's a great rider he won his world title on a ducati then handed it over too Rossi who can't come to terms with it.And he's jumped straight on the Honda and stuck it straight up the front of the pack. I think he has a couple more championships to come.

Big news, both Yamaha factory bikes will not be running in the race today. Lorenzo has lost part of his finger and Spies is too stiff and sore after a heavy crash in qualifying yesterday.

Barry Sheen? Has Bradley Smith won any GP races yet or still falling off the dinky toys?

Yep, he's very good (no Carl Foggarty though... ). My favourite is the crazy-haired Italian, Salmonella - his interviews are great (usually, just after he knocked off a couple of riders then fell off himself...). I also like their wives, very nice.

I canceled my TrueVision contract a couple of years ago - miss the bike races...

Gruesome... Jorge Lorenzo inspects his injured left hand after crashing in warm up for the Australian MotoGP on Phillip Island.

Lorenzo's crash was an ugly, highspeed crash the exit of Turn 12 which pitched the Spaniard into the tarmac and injured a finger on his left hand.

Lorenzo has had part of his finger severed in the crash.

Apparently after Jorge Lorenzo's crash in the morning warm-up some members of his pit crew returned to the crash scene to search for something. They found his glove, looked inside it and when something that they were expecting to find in there, wasn't there, they continued searching on the ground for quite some time.
While the race was on Lorenzo was flown to Melbourne for plastic surgery to his hand.

As soon as he got of the line at the start he had the race won.
Well done casey if he keeps riding like that and his bike stays competitive he will win plenty more championships.
