It's going to be interesting to see if the Saffas (with their reputation as bad tourists in years past) can maintain their consistency and form away from home, albeit on a shorter than usual away leg.

Regardless, both the AB's and Aust. still have plenty of work to do.

Ahem, this is the thread to discuss the Australian loss in rugby.

You can discuss the cricket loss in the other thread.

I can't see them losing. The Yarpies are a different class to NZ & Aus at the moment (who both look very poor imo).

    This is classic:
Rudd the 'good sport' wears All Blacks tie
    Updated 7:29PM Monday Aug 24, 2009

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd kept his word to John Key today and proudly wore his new black New Zealand tie, after losing a Bledisloe Cup bet with the New Zealand PM....
Rudd the 'good sport' wears All Blacks tie - Rugby - NZ Herald News

Politics be damned, Rudd has just gone up in my estimation.

There's also something comforting in knowing that even PM's make silly bets on the rugby. And this is coming from a guy that wore a dress, full make-up, and an Aussie jersey to the pub to watch the 2003 WC final, and a Saffa jersey whilst making my speech at my wedding.

    ^ Just taking the phish.

Sorry, my horribly worded post above's led you astray, I meant that it was me wearing the dress, Saffa jersey etc as the result of losing bets on the rugby.

How old are you? Just an enquiry. You seem a tad fragmented. Are you drinking enough water.?

Of course you'd wear a saffa jersey at youre wedding....you are a bleeding Saffa.

btw...nice to meet your wife and you for dinner, how did a woman so sweet and normal end up married to a cretin like you?

Likewise, was a good evening. Your mate seemed like a good chap too. Will have to do it again sometime when we're not so rushed.

I've asked myself that same question many times and still don't have an answer. Near as I can make it it was just dumb luck on my part.

She barely even batted an eyelid at the whole Saffa jersey/wedding thing.

Well Pdivvy has named the team for tomorrow and as is his want, he has gone against conventional wisdom and tampered with a winning combination! Out goes the mercurial F Steyn (who was just starting to settle into the role) and in comes the 'Tiger Woods' of rugby Pienaar at fullback. This could prove a masterstroke of giving SA more attacking options or it could just give the Aussies the opening they need to have a chance in the game. Having said that though, the Aussies are ravaged by injuries and carrying the mental scars of 3 defeats in a row. Should be a great game.

The one good thing is that he has resisted the urge to bring Burger straight back into the starting lineup and has stuck with Brussow, intstead Burger comes onto the bench for the injured Danie Roussow. It is going to be interesting to see him come on with 30 mins to go after sitting on the sidelines for 8 weeks, go you good thing (just keep your F&*#ing fingers to yourself)!

    SA Team (caps in brackets).

    15. Ruan Pienaar (33)
    14. JP Pietersen (29)
    13. Jaque Fourie (48)

    3. John Smit – captain (87)
    2. Bismarck du Plessis (27)
