Well Pdivvy has named the team for tomorrow and as is his want, he has gone against conventional wisdom and tampered with a winning combination! Out goes the mercurial F Steyn (who was just starting to settle into the role) and in comes the 'Tiger Woods' of rugby Pienaar at fullback. This could prove a masterstroke of giving SA more attacking options or it could just give the Aussies the opening they need to have a chance in the game. Having said that though, the Aussies are ravaged by injuries and carrying the mental scars of 3 defeats in a row. Should be a great game.

The one good thing is that he has resisted the urge to bring Burger straight back into the starting lineup and has stuck with Brussow, intstead Burger comes onto the bench for the injured Danie Roussow. It is going to be interesting to see him come on with 30 mins to go after sitting on the sidelines for 8 weeks, go you good thing (just keep your F&*#ing fingers to yourself)!

I don't think that Deans coaching style has anything to do with Australia's current form in fact they have been a weak side compared to the other powerful Rugby nations for the last 7 or 8 years.

I have taken some heart about the new crop of younger players coming through but while the are making stupid mistakes that mostly result in tries to the opposition the coach can do fvck all about it.

As it stands Australia still needs a decent mobile hard front row and have to get rid of the fancy play and forced passes which invariably ends up in attacking breakdowns.

Maybe they can lure Sir Clive Woodward out of retirement and to show us how to win again!

I don't know what the answer is mate but they have to do something (the aussies) as SH supporters are not as accepting of losing so often unlike our NH cousins!

LOL...it's a classic isn't it....whenever a sporting hero falls from grace the old 'he was shagging the wife excuse' floats to the top

Same accusation was made when Mike Ruddock fell out with his team....

Gavin Henson's dropping from the Ospreys was once balmed on such a thing.....

Several other times too..... in this case the Fijian man needs to be portrayed as the big Fijian Shagger.....of course Tiquiri's dropping has nothing to do with his increasing lack of fitness, his ability to constantly break curfews and go drinking and his genuine lack of self discipline.......

I believe I have the kick off times correct for you. No nasty English people killing the sport stone cold dead it'll be tries, tries and running from all angles. No one will kick, you'll almost think it has become illegal.

Who will win?

South Africa in my book as long as they field a team to win, best pack and they'll hit the ground running. But who knows with De Villiers? after all they've already won the one they really wanted this year, maybe he'll be blooding more players for the future and will give the tournament a miss. Sure hope not!

Australia will give it a good go as always. There is some young backs to look out for, though I don't feel they have come through quite as fast as some of the names in the past. Of course this doesn't apply to young O'Connor, who just couldn't cum any quicker.

I feel this is very much a transition year for New Zealand. The strength in depth of a few years ago looks a bit more suspect. The back row in the recent first test was anonymous and the game against Italy didn't inspire. I think the right selection is there, but will Henry find it? Certain names need shipping out, but this is Test Match rugby, Super 14 flash won't win test matches on it's own and the back doesn't look to be a hige strength.

Tenderloins most Saturday's until mid September, gotta love it, though 3 games against each team, as a tournament it is a bit same same.....but different.

The Perth test, which was dire, is not enough to condemn robbie deans- he'd been generally considered to be foing a pretty good job as coaching up until then. One bad day does not a coach break.

The 'strategy' for Oz has been to rebuild the team moving towards the next World Cup. Whether they have the strength in players to achieve this, and be a serious contender, remains to be seen.

You can't coach without the players and Deans doesn't have much to work with. Some promising backs who as i said at the beginning have now been around long enough to outgrow the 'promising' tag (exception O'Connor). They just aren't doing that.

Burgess is a disaster at Scrum Half and plainly not International quality. Matt Henjak you silly silly boy, you could be a star now but you have really wasted that talent!!!

A bit odd considering most Aussies I have spoken to in the last 6 years or so don't believe the world cup is as serious as the Tri Nations.
