Female vaulting and they rave about Biles but you look at the horse and spring board now compared to the slim kit they used in the 70s and 80s.........
They have about 1 meter on the spring board and horse, the 70/80s the horse was 1 foot. Imo the margin for error afforded now is huge compared the difficulty back then given the kit, physio, saftey etc. GOAT I'm not so sure but let's get swept up with wokeness.

CONTROVERSIAL BOXER IMANE KHELIF WINS AGAIN
Khelif is one of 2 boxers competing in the Paris Olympics despite being banned from last year's World Championships after they were reported to have failed gender eligibility tests.
She is guaranteed at least a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics after beating Hungarian Luca Anna Hamori in the 66kg category.
Hamori said prior to the fight she did not "think it is fair" Khelif was competing but the bout was largely fought in good spirits.
Someone should just Tonya Harding this tranny boxer.
The tranny is up against a Thai next round, some irony there
Two women boxing...in the women's boxing.
Yes, sooo ironic.
Still able to post, numpt?
Impressive.
Kind of.
Jack Robinson forced to change board design before Olympic surfing finals
Australian surfer Jack Robinson is into the Paris Olympics semi-final in Tahiti, but he will be surfing with a painted-over board design following a complaint from South Korean officials.
In the days before competition began at Teahupo’o, Robinson posted an image to his Instagram account of his surfboards for the event – carrying a red rising sun design. The post was captioned: “2 days to go. Boards inspired by AI.”
The design was in honour of Hawaiian great Andy Irons, who had notably surfed with an attention-grabbing red sun design on the underside of his surfboard. Irons, a three-time world champion, died unexpectedly in 2010; his loss deeply affected the close-knit professional surfing community.
But the red and white rising sun design is considered offensive in parts of East Asia, where it is associated with Japan’s militaristic past – including during the second world war.

Julien Alfred wins St Lucia's first Olympic medal - 100m gold
What an astonishing run! She bossed Sha’carri Richardson in the semi, though you could imagine at that stage that Richardson might have been running cagey, holding something back.
This time, there was no scent of that. Alfred burns out of the blocks and gives nobody the slightest sniff of anything. She heads the field the entire way and there’s no chance, even with Richardson’s closing speed, to haul her back.
Ledecky wins 800-meter freestyle for the 4th time
Katie Ledecky wins the 800-meter freestyle swim.
Australia's Ariarne Titmus and America's Paige Madden won silver and bronze, respectively.
Ledecky won her ninth gold and 14th overall medal today, taking the 800-meter freestyle and concluding her fourth Olympic Games in style.
She became the most decorated female Olympic swimmer of all time Thursday when she won silver as part of the U.S. 4x200 freestyle relay team for her 13th career medal.
That’s about it for medals on Day 8. Where things stand
Highlights to follow throughout the day

Lorenzo Musetti serves Italy its first tennis medal in a century
Lorenzo Musetti defeated Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in three sets to earn Italy’s first medal — a bronze — in tennis since the 1924 Paris Olympics.
The last Italian tennis medal was a bronze for Umberto De Morpurgo in men's singles.
This is the second-ever Olympic medal for Italy in tennis, however, Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini are playing in the women’s doubles gold medal match on Sunday and are guaranteed at least a silver medal.
Italy has never won a gold medal in tennis.

Women’s 25m pistol shooting: after a dramatic shootout round, Jiin Yang of South Korea has taken the gold medal, with Camille Jedrzejewski of France pushing her all the way for the hosts in second place. Veronika Major of Hungary took bronze.
There were tears from Jedrzejewski at the end, of joy and relief, as she enjoyed huge home support. It is France’s first medal in the shooting range at these Games.

Emma Wilson had to settle for a second consecutive Olympic bronze medal after falling away dramatically in the womenÂ’s windsurfing final off the coast of Marseille on Saturday.
The 25-year-old had dominated the qualification process, winning eight of the 14 races, and had been a heavy favourite to claim an elusive first major title. But despite holding a narrow lead at the halfway stage, Wilson finished well behind eventual winner Marta Maggetti of Italy, with IsraelÂ’s Sharon Kantor taking silver.
Gold for Germany in team dressage! Silver for Denmark and bronze for Team GB!
Equestrian dressage team: Germany have won the team event! It is by the narrowest of margins though – they score 235.790, bettering Denmark by just 0.121. They are ecstatic, but the final Danish round by Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour and Freestyle was nearly enough to steal it at the last. Team GB finish third.

Gold for Netherlands in the 4x400 mixed relay
The USA were second after the first leg, then led, then led, and were leading into the final straight. I thought that Femke Bol was going to gobble up GB’s Amber Anning for silver, but she kept right on racing and caught Kaylyn Brown for gold! Ran that last leg a second and a half faster than Brown. Amazing finish, huge strides. Great Britain bronze.

What is in the cardboard box medalists get at the Paris Olympics?
As athletes receive the medals during the Olympic Games, they also receive a cardboard box. But what’s inside?
Jessica Fox, an Australian canoer who has already won two gold medals in Paris, shared what was inside the box on her TikTok account.
Inside the cardboard box was a poster designed by French artist Ugo Gattoni.
“Usually, we get the mascot or we get flowers, but this time, it’s a little bit more unique, and I think it’s actually a really cool concept,” Fox said.
The poster also came with gold details on it, and Fox said it could be gold, silver or bronze depending on the medal the athlete wins.
Gattoni told olympics.com in March that the poster took more than 2,000 hours over four months to create a colorful “fantasy city” full of notable Parisian landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.
The poster also features multiple symbols of the Games, such as the Olympic Rings and medals. It also includes depictions of various sports, such as breaking, swimming and diving.
“There are many small details; they’re stories within the stories,” Joachim Roncin, the director of design for the 2024 Paris Olympics, said.
Among the intricate details in the poster, Gattoni hid eight Phryges, the official mascot of the Games, that have left many spectators confused as to what it is. The mascot is inspired by a Phrygian cap, a hat often worn by 18th-century French revolutionaries as a symbol of freedom.
In addition to the poster, athletes who win medals also receive a plushie of the Phryge with a gold, silver or bronze medal emblem sewn onto its belly. However, they receive those off the podium.
In addition, Olympics.com said that the 515 volunteers for the Games will receive all the gifts the medalists get.

Australian boxer Caitlin Parker guaranteed a medal
She has just won a points decision against Khadija Mardi of Morocco, with four out of five judges going her way.
Adam Peaty questioned China's relay victory on the final night of swimming at the Paris Olympics, saying "there's no point winning if you're not winning fair".
China took gold in a thrilling men's 4x100m medley relay race, beating the United States into second and France third, with the British quartet finishing fourth.
Two of the four gold medallists, Qin Haiyang and Sun Jiajun, were among the 23 Chinese swimmers who reportedly returned positive doping tests prior to the Tokyo Olympics.
They were not banned because the China Anti-Doping Agency determined they had unintentionally ingested the substance because of contamination.
"If you touch and you know that you're cheating, you're not winning, right?" said Peaty, who has won three gold and three silver medals for Team GB over his Olympics career.
"I don't want to paint a whole nation or group of people with one brush, I think that's very unfair.
"To the people that need to do their job - wake up and do your job."
Cheating fookers!!
