Just quickly, back to the French game, what I don't understand ...

The French had two clear opportunities to attempt a field goal in the 2nd half, they were playing a man down,
but didn't avail themselves of the opportunity?

I was gonna say the best half of reffing in the contest, until the final play when Barnes put in a bit of a hometown call - looked like a try to me, tacklers fell off...

Dude still had a hand on him when he was downed so counts as completed tackle.

Oh well bridge too far for the Japanese.

It will be little consolation because they would’ve given themselves a legit chance at making the semis but they can be proud of what they achieved in this tournament.

Very good second half performance from the Bokks - power and control, strong set piece, big fellas tackling hard and carrying the ball hard.

Quickly becoming a blowout.

Power & control, always a good way to play a game - 7s rugby doesn't often beat strong power and control with quality kicking over 80 minutes.

Sure as heck would not want to play SA next. The second half was nothing short of masterful. Pure domination.

Took the Boks forty minutes and a reminder at half time, to overcome a very spirited and entertaining Japan side.
SA know how to play on the edge of the laws with a weak referee.
de Clerk is too cocky and way too pretty for his own good. Should have had his face rearranged by now. MoM my arse.
Wales need to play when they are awake, or the semi final will be very dull. England need to step up a few gears over 80 minutes or we will have a very boring SH final.

Yeah, they are very good. They play quite similar to England, they're better in some areas, maybe not quite as good in some areas. Wales will know how to play, basically kick the ball into the Bokk half and tackle, tackle, tackle then look to win the breakdown battle. Not sure Wales have the strength in depth if they have a few injuries...

At this stage, looking like a White Ferns v Bokk final. I reckon England are the second best team here, especially with our depth, but the White Ferns look really special. If we could beat them, I'd fancy us against the Bokks or Wales at this stage of the tournament - even the players who aren't getting onto the bench are decent; Wales noticeably lacked depth off the bench today. The Bokks are very strong off the bench. Bokks, White Ferns and England have just more impact off the bench at this stage of the tournament; Wales & Ireland do at the start of a tournament, but not after a few injuries - Wales 3rd string props looked average at best while the Bokk 3rd, 4th string props are still very strong...

Like the last WC, Wales look like they might be beaten by their injuries as much as anything else. The other 3 semifinalists seem to have nigh on full strength squads.

Then you would have to say that ABs are favourites. Thats a pity though.

What's that, managed to get 15 foreign players in their team by paying them to live in Japan for three years?

Goes up to five years in 2020, so they won't be able to replace any of them.

Based upon what I watched over the weekend it will be a southern hemisphere final.

The All Blacks look awesome.
