Moyes has been lucky/unlucky with RVPs injury. He should be leading the line but promised that role to Rooney in order to persuade him to stay. The best place for Rooney is in the hole with RVP up front and pacy wingers and full backs to supply the ball. The lack of consistent support from attacking midfielders and full backs has led them to where they are now. On paper it looks like an embarrassment of riches. In truth they all have very similar styles of play and Kagawa has not had a decent run to prove himself.

Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Giggs all over the hill with no quality replacements. Ferguson handed over a train wreck and Moyes was gullible enough to buy into it, as were the board when they gave him a six yaer contract.
Having said all that, the last game I watched was the drubbing they got from Liverpool.

Report: Van Gaal agrees deal to become Manchester United manager

London - Louis van Gaal has agreed upon a deal to become the next manager of Manchester United, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported on Saturday.

The 62-year-old, who will step down as Netherlands coach after this summer’s World Cup finals, reportedly agreed to a multiyear deal on Friday night.

De Telegraaf reported that the Dutchman, who has managed Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Ajax, would be given 100 million euros (138.3 million dollars) to spend on transfers in the summer.

United, who lie seventh in the Premier League, sacked David Moyes as manager on Tuesday, only 10 months into a six-year deal.

Midfielder Ryan Giggs is to take charge of the side for the remaining four games of the season.
