Suarez has officially asked to leave, liverpool maintaining he's not for sale. He's as good as gone.

The twat is blaming the press for not giving him a break.

This story really has something to get the press' teeth into.

    I've heard that too.

How many times will Redknapp have signed him if he does go there. 4 or 5 I think.

David Villa looks set to come to the EPL. Spurs and Arsenal seem to be most interested, with Liverpool sniffing around as well.

Reports that Madrid have asked Bale to put an official transfer request in.

A couple of days ago, Falcao signed for Monaco as I mentioned he may at the start of the thread. What a greedy plonker. Ruin his career for a few extra quid.

With the amount of money that Russian is spending, who's to say he's ruining his career?

Remember Man Citeh were shit until the Sheikh started throwing the best part of a billion around.

^ One of the best strikers in the world, not playing in the champions league is a complete waste IMO.

Maybe he will be this time next year, but if he's not, then at 27 he could be wasting the peak of his career to earn a few more quid.

There is talk it may be a stepping stone to Real. We will have to wait and see.

Again, the Russian is assembling quite a team. Who's to say he won't be in the Champions League next year?

Maybe Falcao likes the idea of living in the Playboy's Playground. Hey he might wind down his career not too far away

Mght not even be in Ligue 1 next year! Last I heard there is a court case pending. Ligue 1 don't want Monaco given discrepancy between future French tax increases and the low level in the Principality.

Ain't too fussed mate. Keep Suarez or get £50m (to buy 2 new Luis's...Alberto, and Muriel I hope). Am just bored with the issue to be honest...and the window isn't even open yet!

So yesterday pen was finally put to paper and Jose signs a four year deal at the Bridge.

With a couple of new players, one being a top striker, our midfield trio of geniuses starting to settle in with Hazard looking like a top contender for player of the season, throw in the mangerial changes at United and City and Chelsea could be the team to beat next season.

    Come on you blues.

We'll see mate. Don't under estimate the difference having a manager the players love and want to play for makes.

Pep Guardiola couldn't be more unproven if he tried, and I didn't want him at Chelsea. He now has the job of trying to improve a team which has just won the treble. He's in a lose lose situation right now IMO and I see the wheels falling off big time as he faces his first ever real challenge.

You can't answer the question can you. What's the point of having an opinion if you can't back it up with any facts?

^ While you're there, if you can explain to me what was lucky or money related, about him winning the Champions league with Porto in 2004, I would be grateful.

It was a dour and well organised side that won a cup competition.

Much like Greece in Euro 2004.

Keep the ball, rely mainly on set pieces for goals and grind down the opposition.

    Effective but shit to watch.

I watched them draw with Spain in Porto, and the Spanish fans were almost in tears.

^ That's called sour grapes where I come from mate.

If you're the better team, it's down to you to prove it by beating whatever team's in front of you, however they are choosing to play.

A bit like Barca when they lost to Chelsea playing the best game of "Park the bus" you are likely to see, especially having only 10 men for 45 minutes. At the end of the day, Chelsea outscored them over two legs which is how you win a football game. Barca were caught out as a one trick pony (What a fucking trick it is mind you) and were unable to deal with a team playing in a way that didn't suit them. Tough titties we call that where I'm from.

There isn't a professional football pundit alive that would say Jose Mourinho isn't a great coach and probably the best in the game right now.

Shrinking Violet's comments are clearly driven by bias as so many football opinions are. His ability to say that Mourinho is over rated, yet not be able to give me a single name who he thinks is better, even though I've asked him 3 times, says it all. If what he says is true, he should be able to rattle off a list of 7 or 8 people who he considers to be better.

    are you asking yourself?

Who is a better manager than Mourinho is an impossible question to answer

how do you measure that? on silverware? on team success? on how much money they have available?

you could say Harry Rednapp is better, he has often proven he can bring a team up from the bottom without overspending

others spring to mind, but without a clear definition your question is worthless
