There's a great book if your interested in how he managed to gain power and keep hold of it, and his style of leadership which is very insightful as it was very much 'hands off', which gives lie to the notion that officers involved in war crimes were acting totally under orders or that the pouplation was duped into it's complicity.

I thought Bruno Ganz was rather good playing Hitler in the film "Downfall". Excellent film, btw.

On a side note, one of my Thai neighbors has a dog he named "Hitler".

I have seriously considered writing a short story, possibly even a screenplay about how it would be now on this earth and if Hitler's dream had come true!

Would terrorism be such a factor, would we have the same divided global comunities, could we all get used to eating Saukraut and dumplings and so on and so on............????????

Possibly a better world........??????? and inspite of all the terrible mechanisms he was using at the time to conquer the world.

Maybe worth starting a new thread asking the question!

On a side note, one of my Thai neighbors has a dog he named "Hitler".

Thats nothing, I got 2 -7 week old pups from a hill tribe lady and called the red one socks cause her feet are white and then the other was black as midnite and I called him nigger, but immediately knew how that would go over in a very PC Thai neighboorhood so I canged to Negro., But I guess we should have called him DUM,, .but my most favorite dog since I grew up was a black Shar Pei named Spook.

We'd all be sat at long tables eating Bratwurst mit sauerkraut, and drinking huge steiner glasses of tasty lager served by busty Polish waitresses, having a great time. Probably. (Except for any gypsies, Jews, or homosexuals / tv moderators, obviously).

I spent over 10 nyears living and working in Germany and my experience of the people was a good one. They are nothing like the reputation they enjoy as brash holidaymakers. I have not been back for over 10 years so i expect things have changed, but my experience was deffo positive.
I think if Hitler had won, he would eventually have been overthrown by his own people.
Romanian history is the lesson to follow for answers.

I worked with Germans for years in Germany and whilst it is favourable if you can speak German they in general were always hospitable, and in business always professional and very adept with regard to their engineering ability.

With regard to my statement about how it might be now if Hitler won the war, I really believe we would not have the arab/ muslim / western civilization misunderstanding and conflicts because the Jewish factor would not be the same.

I am not endorsing, encouraging or agreeing with any race or ethnic policy but I just wonder if!

No, I believe that there would be no Islam,Christian,Jewish bullshit, but I also believe that there would not be this overpopulation of the planet as we know it today,
There would have been to many like sTroller and there would have been massive suicides because so many wouldn't have been able to stand more than 1 like that asshole.

The country was polarised between Communism and Facism, Hitler and the Nazi party gained control at the will of leading bankers and industrialists that, fearing Communism, wanted an authoritarian regime sympathetic to them.

They made a pact with the devil, and the rest is history.

Yes it is wrong. As far as U believe what they teach in Europe. I wonder: In what book do people find something weird like that?
Glorification of Adolf H. in some parts of the world is something Germans can not get used to nowadays (when they under the age of 50 and not born in the small parts where neo-nazis kissing each others asses).
Me traveling Malaysia and Thailand I met so much Hitler-sympathizing people I could not believe it is true. (Mostly Pakistani or Indian).

Most of the information they have about Nazi-Germany are totaly wrong and glamorized.
Cause they´re reading this kind of books I think.
