Looks like a damn good deal that, a fiver each for 4 * 250g steaks. I dare say you actually cooked it pretty well too.

If that doesn't summon Stumpy with his USADA Free Range Montana 5A Grade Cattle Porter Houses imported whilst live, Q'd on the Back 50 and served next to the pool while watching The UCLA Chief War Stallions play The Wildbull Hornet Mohawks nothing will.

A weekend of Birthday meals at Chez Mendip.

We started with a simple quiche on Friday night...

I say 'simple', but not 'Hal' simple... this homemade quiche was made with back bacon and freshly laid organic eggs from the garden.

Not a beef dripping-fried chip in sight!

    Simple yet perfect!

A lovely, relaxed Friday night with the daughter!

Oh whoops... where did that come from?

Saturday night was Moo Palo, courtesy of the gardener...

    Freshly laid organic eggs again!

Not to mention freshly picked kanaa from the veggie patch.

A family favourite, yet I do sneak the pork skin fat pieces to the dogs...

You've gotta watch yer cholesterol, after all.

And I climaxed tonight with lamb chops.

Some how I mislaid two lamb chops between Korat Chef and home yesterday, and I have looked absolutely everywhere... so I padded out our meal tonight with a couple of small sausages.

    Perfection for a 15th Birthday!

    Followed by dessert!

    Whoops... wrong pic.

Dessert was hot cherry pie with vanilla ice cream!

    Absolute wonderful stuff!

    I still have it!

It appears you don't. If you are talking about potatoes, is there a shortage?

    ^ More smut...

Actually Molle, I have a bone to pick with you...

I seem to remember that after one of my posts featuring a Korat Chef Pork and Branston Pickle Pie, you mentioned that it had cost you 3000 Baht?

They really are good... I seem to remember.

The last two visits I have paid to Korat Chef (including yesterday) they have had no Pork and Branston Pickle Pies in stock. For me, no huge deal because after all I am an adult and can handle these disappointments, but my daughter was most disappointed as I'd promised her one for her Birthday.

I now hesitate to show off my pies... but must admit that Korat Chef's Cherry Pies are superb with a blob of vanilla ice cream.

I don't have a sweet tooth, dessert pies and puddings doesn't do it for me.
I'm sure my Thai family would love them but I'm not gonna teach them about another farang food they can rob my fridge of..

One of the things I miss about the UK is a pork pie with a bit of Branston on the side.

Whoever thought of actually combining them as one pie in Korat deserves a medal.

Are they as good as they sound, Mendy?

Ask Molle... he seems to have cornered the market.

IKEA meatballs owe their popularity to a winning combination of a tender beef and pork blend, simple all-natural ingredients, and their iconic sweet-and-savory flavor profile. The genius of the dish lies in the balance created by the rich, creamy gravy and the tart lingonberry jam.
