Did you settle for the microwave in the end![]()
Dinner last night, no meat for me pwease.

Raw mushrooms are quite nice if they are fresh, as are most veggies, and they have far more nutrients that way. Interestingly enough, it is only you Brits that take issue with raw veggies, which is not surprising.
The Raw Food Diet: A Beginner'''s Guide and Review
I have no issue with raw vegetables, snubby, but I've never heard of anyone eating raw mushrooms before. It's good to know they are ok to eat raw.
^^^ That looks nice, mate. I've never tried dunking a sponge cake in me gravy.
Despite ongoing mockery, I thought I'd share a couple more dinners for those, like me, who struggle to keep it fresh in the kitchen.
Last night I found this in the bottom of the freezer...
Despite the name, the picture was unmistakably 'cod', so I thought 'pollocks' to that, this will be our dinner.
With the recent Korat potato famine we've been eating way too much chips and fried food lately, so I decided that 'cod' fillets poached in milk and butter was in order.
I was stuck for veg, so eventually went with peas.
Nice!
Today the wife soireed in with neither a here nor there, and announced that she'd be preparing dinner tonight... chilli mussels in a tomato sauce. No peas, no sprouts, I mean, WTF? I don't think she realises how these spontaneous acts of cooking disrupt our usual eating routine, but it gave me a night off cooking, so why not?
Very nice it was too... my wife had mussels I never knew existed.
Fnar fnar...
^ you need to tell her mussels should be done with white wine, garlic and shallots, with a side of cheesy peas.
^ Yeah... actually, why don't you tell her mate?
That may be best.![]()
^ do you think asking her to add double cream might send over the top. I'd like to help out but I don't speak Australian.
