Guess what we're having for dinner tonight? A family favourite.
I made up enough steak and kidney pies to last the rest of the month.
I used up the leftover pastry to make a ham and cheese pasty kind of thing and some sausage rolls.
We haven't got any proper sausages at the moment so I had to use some of the daughter's revolting cheese-filled chicken frankfurter things.
Those pies look the business.
I'd be giving the kidney to the dogs though.
Where is Red Dingle. There should be some good stuff coming....
Today I ate some excellent minced lamb (it tasted much better than it looks in the photo ). It surprised me how tender it was and how good it tasted - probably the best minced lamb I've eaten this century and possibly the best I've eaten for 40+ years. Wonderful.
^^^, ^^...
Nev, you certainly spent some coin at Korat Chef last week!
I was there today and discovered no less than 7 different makes of baked beans. Cheap as well... Shutree, eat your heart out.
But tonight it was home made steak and kidney pie.
Money...
So just to be sure of it, there are guts (kidney) in that?
If so then you get a full on...
If it is just steak then I would get down and boogie with ya Mendy.
Stumps won't he is a grill it or catch it type of dude.
Cracking slow-cooked homemade massaman. Think it was slow-cooking for around 24 hours.
Been a while and forgot how good they can be.
Already put in an order for more from edithchef.com
^ Not all done at once, ya numpty.
She isn't Chitty that would have thrown everything in at the start.
After a busy day, Q'd me up a nice pork tenderloin and fresh Long beans and carrots
A light dusting with Garlic, chili, salt and pepper
First flip
Long beans and Carrots drizzled in olive oil and Italian seasonings
Dinner as served.
I ate about half the Tenderloin as I wanted to save a nice piece for a salad tomorrow tonight.
That's massive.
The kids and I shared a lamb rack.
Took left over pork tenderloin and added to a nice salad for dinner, Has some Greek fetta cheese and olives, carrots, tomatoes and avocado with a dusting of olive oil and red wine vinegar
Looks damn fine and probably even healthy.
Funny that you mention healthy. If you have to attach a flag to a country that has the most unhealthy diets on TD than the UK wins it hands down. I have never seen so much processed dried or canned food being trumpeted here like it was something special.
It is revolting. Do yourselves a favor, start to prepare your own foods from scratch. Instant potatoes and canned beans are a lazy man's dinner.
This evening I intend to destroy Hell's Kitchen with an incinderary curry of volcanic proportions!!
Firstly crack open a beer the a get a cracking....
What is unusual and totally away from the norm in the pic below?
A prize for the correct answer!
It's the massive bulb of oak smoked garlic which incidentally has allgone into the curry concoction.
Where to put this recipe is the question???
The TD Curry club thread?
The Slowcook/Crockpot thread?
Or here....
Fvck it!
This is a work of art, a masterpiece of monumental proportions.
It's going in all three!
I dared to be different tonight and blended chilli, garlic and onion then fried in coconut oil adding spices along the way until my eyes and nose were streaming...
Into da mix..
Into the pan with some soon to be Bombay potatoes..
Then the half kilo of chicken fillets, turn the volume up high..
Put your curry powders, tomato puree, cumin, turmeric, cider vinegar(cheers loops), upside down tomatoes (cheers Ciz) with some chicken gravy into the crockpot slow cooker then get ready to fuse!!!
Two hours on high shall suffice.
Time to decorate the Crackpot TD crockpot
Enjoy you bunch of wronguns!
I've got 6 pints to down before I can enjoy my food coma
Shalom
This crackpot it taking far too long!!
Back into the gas fired pot with fresh coriander added, the anticipation is building...
